Chapter Nine “We have a winner!” The referee held up Jimmy’s arm as he pounded on his chest with his other. Kendall felt worse now than she had when she’d taken her seat. She’d tried to question Chad earlier because she’d recognized he was nervous and thought maybe she could get a few good answers out of him. That was shitty of her, and she knew it. As soon as she’d asked the first one, she’d known better, and it wasn’t like she even got an answer to make it worth asking. He’d been closed off.
