Chapter 4: Day 4
SHAI: Can you come to Midtown today? I might be able to take a long lunch.
JARED: Sure. When and where?
Jared was a little surprised to see Shai text him first, even if they had been texting back and forth all through the night. Despite Shai’s apparent nervousness to meet in public, he was fine to chat in secret. Only in his uncle’s office was he unable to communicate freely. Already, Jared felt like the two of them were characters in a spy movie, having to talk in code and meet in secret. If he didn’t let it bother him too much, then it actually felt a little exciting.
SHAI: Where nobody can see me.
Jared thought for a moment. Where could they go in midtown Manhattan and be invisible?
JARED: Meet me at the Disney Store on Times Square. 12:30 P.M.?
SHAI: Okay.
