Shawn, hope you are preparing to ace the term exams this time?" said Harry, who brought out a huge novel from his bag and opened it.
Shawn and the others blinked at this but soon returned to the main point, which was Harry's question, "Yeah, for all we know, you can beat Howard; you've got the talent and the brains; the effort's nah." Charles chimed in, acting supportive while Shawn shook his head at this.
"Thanks for the support, Charles."
"Don't thank us," Stephanie added before she rose from her seat and walked towards the window, squinting her gaze upon the falling raindrops.
"Just promise us that you'll do your best. You've been too distracted lately and I can see why your mum took away your phone. She knows that if she doesn't, you wouldn't even touch your notes, then woosh, a load of complaints from your mouth." She said.
"It's alright that you can say such glamorous words, Miss Saludictorian," Harry said while flipping through the novel's pages.
Stephanie promptly shot him a glare at that statement and Shawn just chuckled. “Well nothing is stopping you from going for it anyways,” Charles joined in.
"While it seems as though she’s right? What happened to you?" Shawn asked before turning his head to an embarrassed Charles.
"We all can do it. We can take the first four spots."
"I'm already in the top four though." Stephanie shrugged.
"Then, the three of us will have to catch up," He responded, swirling his fingers around to point at the three of them, including him.
"So do you mean that we're going to be studying together now?" Harry asked, cutting his eyes from the words in the book, "Maybe, but then again, I'm too lazy, so I'll try to allocate my time," Charles chimed in,
Shawn glanced at the two back and forth then with squinted eyes he declared, “You guys are simply just lazy,"
"Yep, we are," They both chorused before unanimously shrugging their shoulders, and in less than a second, their shoulders both earned punches from Stephanie, and they cried out in dramatic tones.
It was still raining heavily at the moment when Shawn decided to change the topic, "I was thinking, within this upcoming set, which one among the seniors would be the Head Boy, who would be the Head Girl and their assistants?"
"I'm thinking Senior Carl will be the Head Boy, and Rachel will be the Head Girl. As for the rest, those are not my concerns, but I'll be rooting for Desmond to be the Assistant," Charles stated, arching his back on the chair and stretching out his legs.
"I can agree with Senior Carl since he does a lot of things related to presentations for the school, a bit responsible as very smart," said Harry.
"You mean smart as...in book terms?" Stephanie corrected.
"Both in book terms and street-wise. As for Desmond, the school's student groups have a common ancestry from his three school fathers.
So if they declare their support, the teachers might agree, or if they don't, they allow the students to declare their support by conducting an election even though it doesn't guarantee who will be the head prefect. It can also serve as a pointer," Harry clarified while adding more points to his words.
"Seems that novel's allowing you to throw grammar around, on." Stephanie glared. Charles then threw out a suggestion, "Shawn maybe you should start joining one of the student groups. There are a lot of things and recognitions that you can gain from doing that."
"I don't think Shawn has to join the student groups to gain recognition for a stable footing in the school. Those groups were initially formed by the school and handled by the teachers but you know we don't like adults interference, three of the seniors, took the responsibility of handling some to the extent that the teachers had to sit back and not interfere with the way they were being run because they ran them better than when they had control."
"True," said Harry. "After all, the amount of students interested in those activities increased when they came in,"
"It might be a good idea, but it all depends on your decision," Stephanie replied, turning her head to him.
Shawn was about to respond when he noticed that the raindrops had reduced and the sky was starting to clear, "I think that it's time that we go home. It's already clearing out" he said.
"Ok," They all agreed, literally forgetting about their discussion as they rose from their seats and carried their bags then joined Shawn in leaving the classroom behind.
Other students were still around, but they were all absorbed in their discussions, plays, games, or just doing whatever they liked. As soon as he came out, Shawn walked directly to the school opposite his to get his sister and Lucas, who had somehow ended up being drenched in rain and a fly-out shirt.
"Why are you always so rough?" Shawn frowned upon noticing his brother coming from afar.
"Does it matter I'm still the one who’s going to clean them? Mum may be kind-hearted when it comes to dinner, but she'll roast me if I dare to leave my clothes around the house and not clean them!" Lucas answered, whining at his inevitable fate
"True, out of everyone in the family, you are the one who is rough the most, so you need to be toned," Shawn agreed, earning a glare from the younger brother.
A mischievous smile appeared, "But you're also the most mature,"
"Ish," said Stacy, who was busy munching on some biscuits.
"Little sis." Lucas looked at Stacy in shock, feigning a heart attack with his hands on his chest and a dramatic facial look, which was then received with rolling eyes.
Shawn, who saw this, laughed out loudly, "Let's go" he held Stacy's hand and waited for Lucas, still drenched, to get his school bag and move.
The weather was clear but now it seemed as though the clouds were gathering again as they walked through the wet stone tiles of the streets. As they moved further, Charles and Harry eventually departed to their homes.
"See you tomorrow bro!" Shawn yelled while he bade them farewell.
"Bye!" They replied with a wave of their hands. The Teenager, Stephanie, and his siblings continued their walk to the road and boarded a taxi.
"Did you follow my advice?" Stephanie said as she allowed Stacy and Lucas to enter before she joined.
"Yeah," Shawn replied as he opened the door and came to sit in the front.
"Where you headed kids?" The Taxi driver asked.
"Helmings Street," Shawn answered as the middle-aged man with a black cap stepped on the wheel, driving to a street in 15 minutes where he dropped them off.
Shawn and Stephanie paid for the ride and came out with his siblings before walking on. They took a turn to the left and walked straight ahead. When they reached a point, Shawn took a turn to the right and Stephanie took a turn to the left.
The conversation they had before parting was still ringing in Shawn's ears, "Now all we have to do is wait for Richard to take action. If he does anything after today then we should be able to act," She said.
"You are, in reality, a boring guy after all," She added.
Thank you for the compliment" Shawn replied before then taking the turn to the right.
He wasn’t going to be bothered about one dude petty enough to take revenge over being refused to be given notes of his assignments. With what he had seen, the guy shouldn't be that petty, right, or maybe he was. He wasn't even sure if he was a bully because the way he treated others was different from how he behaved with Shawn recently.
"You know what, I'll deal with it tomorrow," He told himself before burying the matter.
After a while, they reached their house, a duplex lanced with black-colored gates that had sharp points at the top.
Shawn glanced at the smaller gate and then took out a key, which he used to unlock the lock. Around days like this, his mom would always come back by 5:45 pm, earlier or later depending.
So he just went inside, closed the door and his siblings went to play. Stacy mentioned that she wanted to watch TV, but Lucas suggested that they watch Netflix instead.
"Noo. I want to watch TV today; I'll watch Netflix with you, brother Lucas, but The Adventures of Berry Boom is coming, so let me just watch!" Stacy cried while pleading.
The moment their big brother walked into the sitting room, to see a turned-on TV. His gaze shifted to Lucas, who had returned from his room, which was also upstairs. Lucas was also holding his phone.
Shawn then stretched out his hand and grabbed the phone from his brother's hands. "Hey!" Lucas yelled.
"Nope, you are not getting your phone till you have done what you need to do," Shawn said with a stern look, "And what are those?" Lucas asked, clenching his teeth violently.
"Do your homework and clean your room" Shawn demanded.
"You don't get to tell me what to do!" Lucas refuted with a frowning face. "Alright then, I'll just tell Mum that her younger son is that lazy.”
"You're threatening me?!" Lucas's glare at his older brother became even more intense.
"Of course, I'm doing it with a touch of discipline and determination. No assignments completed, no room cleaned, then no phone and mum knows she's fine," Shawn looked at his brother with a smug smile.
"Fine," Lucas huffed then walked on. "Good brother. Now run along" Shawn waved him off.
School closed at 2:45 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays was 1:45 pm. The rain fell for more than 35 minutes, and it took 25 minutes to travel, so Lucas had 1 hour and 55 minutes to work.
The elder brother went upstairs and started with his homework. He hid Lucas' phone in his wardrobe under his blue jeans, which were quite deep inside his wardrobe after he shut down the phone. He then jumped on his bed with green bed sheets and a blue pillow on top.
After a while, he started thinking about what he had heard that day. He pondered about the next prefects that would be chosen after the current set graduated from school.
He wondered if he would be picked because the choosing of prefects could go down to two classes below the graduating one. Feeling uneasy, he brought a spare note located on his shelf and began scribbling. Those were the plans for his world, Ornio, but while being caught up writing them, he didn't know what happened but he dozed off.
*Logging Creator into the world...*
"Why am I here?!" He screamed.
*You have slept in the real world and have been logged into the game world*
"When and why did this happen?"
*Since the time that you have logged into the world from day 1 and no particular reason.*
"You didn't say anything about having a nap. I thought that it was sleep that required me to log into the world"
*The moment the brain has been made to rest the game world opens.*
"Why do I feel like this is going to become a major problem?"
