“Likewise, professor.” A small laugh gets trapped in his throat.

“Do you regret it?” My words come without thinking, but I feel the air partially leaving my lungs as I wait for his answer.
“Of course not.” He states after a few seconds, and I allow myself to breathe again. “I don’t regret anything that has happened between us. Do you?” He changes his position so he can look at me.
