JORDYN’S POV I managed to escape from the clutches of my mother and some unwanted guests, seeking refuge in the hallway as I was desperate for a drink. As I walked, I heard my mother’s voice behind me, dripping with false sweetness. “Jordyn,” she called out, her voice echoing in the empty hallway. I stopped dead in my tracks, a sigh of frustration escaping my lips as a familiar feeling of annoyance seeped through my veins.
