Jace's POV "It's my dad," I said, staring at the screen like it might stop ringing if I looked at it long enough. Ariana sat up straighter on the bed, watching me carefully. "You should probably answer it." "Yeah." I didn't move for a second, my thumb hovering over the screen, that familiar tightness already building in my chest before I'd even heard his voice.
