CHAPTER THREE : Misunderstanding

Flashback!!!

"Dad!!"pearl howled out loud after Cole slapped Sly.

"What have you done you immature boy?" Cole said furiously"do you have any idea what it cost me to finally get his attention but you...why do that?".

"Dad"lily called out softly with stream of tears dropping from her eyes.

"You had better shut up. This is between father and son, again never call me Dad cos I'm not..he is dead. You're just an orphan I took in" he glared at her then to Sly"do you realise you ruined my business deal, all for HER. He was my business partner but then you just had to beat his son till he landed in the hospital with a broken arm?". Cole yelped at him.

"But father he hurt her.. didn't you see how hard she cried for him when he rejected her?" sly spoke gaining his voice.

"So, does that mean you should beat him black and blue?. she's a nobody to you and will never be".Lily, understanding what Cole meant touched her chest in pain and cried out with pearl trying to pacify her.

"Lily's my everything alright dad,and I won't just seat down and watch doing nothing when someone hurts her even if that person was my best friend or your business partner's son. I love her alot alright, it hurts me alot when she cries".he roared out with mixed emotion.

His outburst astonished them all mostly Cole and Lily. Cole gritted his teeth in anger when he heard what his son said to him while lily looked at him (Sly) in confoundment.

"What do you mean by you love her?did I hear that correctly?" Cole asked trying to control his anger because in no time his outburst would be out and if it did, he didn't know what he would do.

"You definitely heard me correctly..father" he answered in a mocking tone."I Love her"he elaborated those words to him. Cole could not describe the anger that came rushing to him when he heard what his son uttered. Furiously, he slapped him the second and third time.

"Dad!!"

"Sly"

"Cole!!"

Both pearl, lily and lisa called out together in unison.

Just then Lisa, who traveled to city D to visit her brother entered the house to witness this scene alongside the butler when suddenly Sly angrily cried out "I loothe you father and no matter what you say or do, I'll still be with lily forever" he moved to Lily to intertwine his hands with hers making her shiver a little.

"Sly" she called out staring into his upturned shaped hazel eyes

"You don't have to be scared. I'm here for you ok.."he cupped her face and gave her a kiss on her forehead."

"What happened here?" Lisa inquired in a worried tone.

"Ask that from your super cool husband here"sly said getting a glare from his father before leaving with lily.

"We need to talk, Cole"

Present!!!

At the Coleen mansion

"Sister!" Lily said in a thrilled tone as she hugged Tiara"I missed you soooo much, did you?".

"Of course my baby sister, I missed you too"tiara cried pinching her cheeks with tender. "How was school today..you had fun right, bet there are alot of guys falling for this little baby doll" she spoke with a tone full of enthusiasm and pride. But Sly who was beside pearl admiring her face snapped out of his imagination after listening to tiara's words. He growled and cried to Tiara "of course not , who will fall for her "he tried to sound menacing enough

"Well, precisely you dumbhead brother" pearl thought to herself

"Are you jealous?" Tiara voiced out to him and tried to read his expression

"Me..jea.. jealous. Ofcourse not and don't forget I'm the King of ladies in school, so why would I suddenly become jealous of her. Besides there're far lots of prettier girls than her" he cried and left to his room.

"What's wrong with that guy?" Tiara inquired.

"Don't know and never want to know?. Let's leave lily, we have a project to work on" pearl cried and left with lily.

A while later, tiara's phone rang and when she saw the caller's name. At first she wanted to ignore but later on answered it .

"Hello" someone said from the other line.

"What else are you inquiring for me Cleo, I remembered saying no?"

"Oh! But I didn't call you for that"

"Why did you call then?"she demanded

"Well, to remind you of the gala party this night"

"And what did I say about that?"she uttered frustratedly.

"Be my date pleeeease"he said which annoyed her and then hung up on him.

The girl's bedroom

"Pearl, am I awful. Why does sly not want to hang out with me anymore?. Is it possible that he changed because of what happened that night?. I should have allowed him ..urgggh, I really hate myself" she turned to face pearl, who was busy watching her favourite cartoon show. Miraculous ladybug. "Are you even listening to me?"

"Look, baby doll . It's neither your fault not his, you were scared that's all and stop blaming yourself alright" she said but still focused on the cartoon.

"But he was my best friend, we shared everything with each other. What if he was influenced by that day he was arrested?" She asked sorrowfully.

"Stop blaming yourself and leave that dumb ass brother of mine to me. Anyway,we have a gala ball to attend to and I'm really excited for it, then don't spoil it because of him"

"Whatever"

Meanwhile at Sly's bedroom

Immediately he entered his room, he threw everything that were on his table and yawped out. A while later he went to the bathroom,took a bath ,with a pale face he put on his rope and came out . He sat down on the bed angrily having lily on his thought.

"I should have controlled my temper"he cried and stood up from the bed"that girl, why is she sooo urgggh?. She makes me mad,why did she have to become so beautiful and innocent for Zac to want to date her...I should be the only one for her?. She should only be mine..MINE!!!."he cried out as he moved to the window to have a view of the City.

"She belongs to me and I won't give her to any one. Never.why can't she look ugly to other guys?. Why does she always smile in front of them, doesn't she know how hurting it is to see other guys lustfully staring at her?"

He moved back to the bed when he suddenly opened the first drawer, bringing out a photo of himself and Lily. Two years ago, they both went to the amusement park to celebrate his fifteenth birthday and took this picture together.

Now he stares at the photo touching her face .

"Everytime I look at you, I feel love and ownership. I miss us lily, I really do and I can't at all imagine my life without you in it . I'm so sorry for hurting you today. Could we just go back to where we were before, I miss you so much?" He said kissing her face."your eyes"he fell asleep with the picture on his chest.
