4. He found me.

“Ash!!” My mom yelled. Waking me up from my sleep. I groaned, exhausted from the night before. I had patrolled the borders all night. “Hey honey, i’m sorry but the alpha is requesting extra patrols on the border.” I rolled out of bed and put on my armor. “Is there more wolves around the border?” I asked, hoping the answer was no. “Im afraid so, we smell at least 5.” She said as she was getting ready to leave and putting her armor on. “Where are you going?” I asked. “The alpha asked me to come over to discuss strategies to get rid of the rogues.” She shrugged. “See you later.” She waved as she walked out the door. I followed her out the door and headed to the area I was patrolling. As I walk through the woods, i feel the winter breeze blow through my white fur. I enjoy the cold. I patrol the packs border, sniffing the air for any signs of rogues. No signs yet, i thought. We are a small pack, maybe 50 wolves. We don’t have any enemies, so i don’t know who would attack us. We don’t have anything of value in our pack. We live in small huts, even the alpha does. We are a peaceful pack, who tends to keep to themselves and don’t tend to align ourselves with any other packs. Most packs don’t know we even exist. i walked deep in thought not paying attention to my surroundings. As i looked along the tree time, i felt my heart beating out of my chest. So loud that i felt like my ear drums would explode. I could sense a presence but I couldn’t see it. “Why are you just standing there??? Run!!!.” My wolf yelled inside my head. But i couldn’t move, I was paralyzed by the fear of this presence. Suddenly the wolf made itself know and stepped out of the treeline. He was a large wolf, much larger than me. His wolf was almost the size of an alpha. I looked at him up and down, deciding if i should run or fight. “I wouldn’t run if I were you.” The wolf spoke. As if on cue, 4 more wolves stepped out of the tree-line. They were all large wolves, almost the size of an alpha. These have to be the wolves we have been smelling. Was this the presence i felt watching me the other day? The wolves had black fur, with scars all over their body. These wolves were not rogues but much worse. They were part of the Shadow Moon Pack. You can tell by the way they carried themself. The shadow moon pack was known for their ruthless and cruel behavior. They destroyed other packs by killing its wolves or taking wolves hostage. Or they were Forced to join the ranks of their pack. “What are you doing here?” I asked, I feared I already knew the answer. To destroy our pack next. “We are here for you, of course.” The leader glared at me. “Me?” I asked completely stunned. I mind-linked my mom telling her to warn the others. That the shadow moon pack was here and they needed to go into hiding. But i heard nothing back. “Mind linking someone?” He smiled. His sinister smile made my blood run cold. Chills went up my spine as I thought of the worst case scenario. Is everyone already dead? I felt a pain in my chest, that I knew was my mom. Is she dead? I felt terror creep into my body. I was snapped out of my thoughts when he spoke again. “My name is Drake, and our alpha has asked us to bring you back to the shadow moon pack to be his mate.” “Who’s your alpha?” I asked with fear rising in my body. I knew who it was. I knew it was him. “His name is Alpha Jordan Scar.” My heart dropped into my stomach. I felt time stand still. This can’t be true. I heard my wolf whine in my head. My wolf Ice, is also terrified of him and his wolf. We were mates 5 years ago, when i was 18. But I ran away into hiding once i learned who he really was. My entire pack had to move, so we could all hide from him. And now they have found me again. I did not want to get beaten again to an ounce of life. Just because the moon goddess cursed me with a monster as my mate. Why moon goddess? Before I could finish my thoughts, I could feel my feet sprinting away as fast as they could carry me. There was no way, I was going back. I wouldn’t survive him again. I heard the wolves running behind me. I quickened my pace, I was a strong fighter, and agile. I was surely faster than these big wolves I thought. I had been training for the last 5 years for this moment. If Jordan had ever found me again.
