"Commander Walter, I will be the one to talk to the Alpha. I need you to stay here." Janus Marasigan said as the weird general turned himself, going to the pack house with five shifters. Janus followed him, but before that, Janus whispered to Commander Walter's ear. "Don't trust anyone here; vampires are all around." The commander nodded, his eyes now widening. He realizes that this little general has a sharp smell. However, Janus Marasigan found the Alpha of the pack. He has been sick, lying in his room for three months. "I am Janine Guardo, the daughter of the Alpha. Thank you for coming here!" This female shifter is the princess. But why does she look covered with fear and nervousness? Janus deep thought "There is something wrong with this house." Janus said while he stared at the sleeping Alpha. "What do you mean?" the weird general of the pack asked. Janus Marasigan walked near him. But what he did next was to quickly grab the weird general's neck, pull him, and bring him close to the big window of the Alpha's room. At the bottom, many shifters were walking around, along with the soldiers and commander Walter, who remained standing in front of the pack house. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is to inform you that the Alpha was sick because of your weak general." Janus Marasigan says it in a loud voice. "I did everything for this pack; why are you blaming me now? This is a baseless allegation." The weird general, Alexer, tried to say something even though his voice was strained. Janus let go of his neck and said, "Then prove it!" What Janus Marasigan did was because two of his bodyguards were vampires. Alice makes his way. That's the reason why the princess can't do anything. However, Janus wants to know his reason first. "Princess Janine Guardo, can I talk to the beta and the omega?" The trembling princess answered quickly. "Yes, I will call them right away. See you in the hall." The princess glances at Janus Marasigan; her worrying looks and her eyes seem to say the word 'help'. Janus knew it, but he didn't know the reason for it. Then the princess immediately left the room. "Because of what you did, I will file a complaint against you. You insulted the dignity of the alpha warrior. You will see," the weird general said. He growled at the same time. "Go on, Mr. Alexer." Janus replied. However the general named Mr. Alexer ordered that the visitors will stay in the cabin near the city gate for the main time. While waiting for the summon. Janus understands the protocol of the King here. Janus awoke before dawn, his body stiff from sleeping on the cold grass. For the two weeks of travel, he felt his body drained. In fact, he could pay in an inn within the city, but he has no intention of spending, and above all, being among his warriors is more essential to him. Even if they perish, they will fight together, this is what a small general represents. Yet despite his sore body, Janus changes his outfit, with proper clothes as a noble man. Today, he would finally have a chance to join the pack of wolves and humans here. Then he called his assistant. "Commander Walter, for now I will assigned you to watched over our loads and warriors. Stay here with them. Be the best general this is your duty" "But General Janus, where are you going?" Walter was worried because he didn't know what Janus was planning. "I'm going to look for evidence inside the city, I need to make sure there's a vampire invasion going on here before we deal with the Alpha" "I understand, but please give us a signal immediately for wherever you are" Commander Walter replied. "Yes, I will come to you sooner. No matter what happens don't tell anyone that I am in the city" After he said this, he set off. By late morning the cottages and farms along the road grew more frequent, and Janus knew he was in the village that part of the city. Several times he stopped to ask a passing farmer if there is something weird happening around them, like sickness and killings. But none of them tell the truth. Instead they told him that the people in the city are good, and they live peacefully in this place. By now, he wondered just how they get such wrong information coming from. Can an Alpha lie to his soldiers? Near midday, Janus topped yet another low hill when suddenly, he saw it. Not even a mile away, numerous buildings stretched into the distance, smoke wafting from what must be hundreds if not thousands of chimneys. He could not suppress a feeling of shock as he took in the sight. Janus knew Surigao City was large, of course, it was the only place in the region called a "the second best city" but the sheer scale of it filled him with awe. With this many buildings, there had to be thousands of people living here. His mind boggled at the thought. It was as if some giant had picked up all the towns Janus had ever seen and gathered them all together. Janus marveled at the sight, wondering what it would be like to live in such a best place. At that moment, a cheerful voice sounded, "First time here, I take it?" Janus turned around with a start, finding a heavyset man in a bright blue robe behind him. Before he could respond, the man continued, "You're an Easterner, I take it?" He gestured at Janus head. "It's the blond hair that gives it away. Don't see much of that around here. So what brings you to the city? If it's work you're looking for, I suppose I could-" "I'm here for someone," Janus hurriedly interrupted him. "For someone?" The man frowned. "To be her mate?" His expression suggested that he did not approve of the idea. Janus nodded. "Do you know where she is?" The man chuckled, although the mention of the woman had taken some of the cheer from his voice. "The city is a big place. But women nowadays like to roam, eat and hang out at entertainments, the Pearl center. You couldn't miss it if you tried." "Can you show me the way?"
