ELARA’S POV
When I arrived home, I couldn't sit still because I'd been thinking about what Ryder's mom told me earlier.
"Elara?" Mom called out to me, and I looked at her.
"What, Mom?" I raised my eyebrows at her question.
"Why, what? I've been asking you what happened during your outing, but it seems you're not listening to me. What's going on with you? I've noticed for weeks now that you've been acting strangely."
"No, Mom, I just don't feel well," I replied emotionlessly. "Okay, Mom, I'll go upstairs for now."
"Oh, come on! Stop it, Elara. Tomorrow, you're going to the hospital for a check-up. Whatever you're feeling might be serious."
"Okay, Mom, I'll see if Ryder and I don't have any plans tomorrow," I replied, just to end our conversation.
As I went upstairs, I was lying down
