Aiden
I can still hear the woman's words as Kael and I leave, their intensity hinting at deeper meanings that are just out of grasp. I'm left wondering about the hidden meanings underlying her confusing tone since it seems like her message has a weight I can't quite understand.
"Gaano mo na siya katagal ka kilala?" tanong ko kay Kael, andito parin kami sa Underground Alley nitong Durinel Village.
"Simula ng maging Path Slayer ako." sagot nito ng walang tinginan sa akin.
"If she has influence, why didn't I know anything about her? I didn't even hear rumors or gossip about her." tanong ko ulit sakanya.
"Binansagan siyang forgotten witch bago pa man ako maging Path Slayer." Maikling paliwanag nito.
"I thought she could help us but you're wrong" I said to him.
I sensed something as Kael guided me into the dark, winding corridors of Durinel Village's Underground Alley. It started as a weak, phantom feeling, but it quickly became something far more concrete: there was someone I recognized. I could only see his figure through the heavy curtain of shadows. He remained there, his movements skillfully concealed, almost as if he wanted me to be aware of his presence. I couldn't shake the unsettling feeling that he wasn't just watching from a distance, or that he was trying to tell me something strange that I hadn't expected.

Felicia Duskveil is taken aback by an unexpected guest following Aiden and Kael's departure. Rhea Sablehart, a witch affiliated with the Coven of the Wyrd who is well-known for her premonitory visions. Rhea asks Felicia how she's doing, and the two test each other's intelligence and wits with a series of cryptic riddles. As both ladies realize the significance of their meeting and the deeper ties between their futures become apparent, the tension in the environment intensifies.
"The weaver of vision herself, Rhea Sablehart. What is the pleasure owed to me? Has a prophecy emerged?" Felicia Smirks.
"Alternatively, a loose end. Felicia, tell me, how can a shadow get light?" With a glint of mischief in her eyes, Rhea turned her attention to Felicia.
"By accepting the dark, as without it, the light is but a passing memory. But describe for me, Rhea, what hovers just below the realm of dreams but never quite takes off." Felicia once again throw a riddle.
With a subtle shift, Rhea leaned closer to Felicia, their conversation intensifying
“A wish unspoken, trapped within the silence of the heart. But you, dear Felicia, are familiar with such constraints, are you not?” Rhea talked back.
"I have, in fact, come to terms with the burden of unrealized potential. Tell me, though, what grows out of the ashes of despair." Felicia sighed.
"Hope, strong and resolute, waiting for the appropriate opportunity to rise. Shall you tend to it or will you allow it to wither under your hands?" Rhea spoke again.
"Maybe a gardener has to look after her own roots before aiming high. However, Rhea, tell me if your prophecy will loosen or tighten the bonds of fate." With a moment of silence, Felicia remained still, her mind deep in contemplation
''That, dear Felicia, is for you to decipher. The future is ever-shifting, just like the riddles we share. Choose wisely.” Rhea’s smile was a puzzle, intriguing and full of unspoken meaning.
Felicia laughs uncontrollably.
Rhea Sablehart grins as she recalls the day Felicia's hopes of becoming a member of the formidable Coven of the Wyrd were dashed when Viraesca Moonshadow surpassed her. The two cast sharp glances at one another. Strangely, Felicia begins to take unexpected pleasure in her mistakes and laughs uncontrollably at how funny they are. The two witches engage in a lighthearted conversation filled with humor and subtly uncomfortable times as they exchange riddles. Rhea questions Felicia about her preference and warns her about Aiden, implying that their arrangement is precarious.
"Felicia, how untamed your laughing is, like the winds. You appear incredibly happy for someone whose hopes were crushed by Viraesca." Rhea smirks.
"Rhea, pleasure is a curious thing! I now understand that in order to obtain anything, one must first lose something. Viraesca's triumph released me. I'm glad she shattered my illusions!" Felicia said while laughing maniacally. Rhea's confused.
"A strange gratitude indeed. But tell me, what gains await you in the shadow of a fallen dream?" Rhea asked.
"Every dream lost opens up new possibilities, Rhea. Similar to a riddle whose answer is right in front of you. What, though, dread the dawn despite whispering in the night?" Felicia wonders.
"A secret harbored for too long, causing internal conflict. And what about that one witch you met, Aiden? What part does he play in your riddle game?" Rhea asked Felicia about Aiden.
"A game in which he might have the key to revealing my actual power. He must be handled carefully though, just like any other key. Don't you think so?" Felicia grins.
“Just remember, Felicia, that the heart can be a fragile thing. If you’re not careful, you may find yourself breaking more than just dreams.” Rhea's eyes narrowed slightly, Rhea sizing up the situation with keen awareness.
"A warning encased in a riddle? How fun! I promise, though, that I won't break. Rhea, farewell. May the wisdom of your prophecies lead you." Felicia waved her hand with a flick of annoyance, brushing aside the matter.
"And may your newfound freedom not lead to chains, Felicia. Tread lightly with Aiden. The winds of fate can shift in an instant."

Kael brought me here, in this tavern-like place. Inside, the elongated shadows flashed across the walls in an almost suffocating dimness that created a mysterious atmosphere. My eyes gradually adjusted, exposing an area where the light appeared to falter, shrouding a large portion of the room in darkness.
A spooky shiver ran down my spine as I peered around the inside. Each patron took a seat at a different table, keeping a considerable distance between them as though an imperceptible wall separated them. All of the patrons were dressed in black robes, with veils or masks covering their faces so that they were only shadows in the darkness. I had the impression that I had entered a group of phantoms, all of whom were hiding something behind their masks.
"What's this place?" I asked Kael.
"This is The Gloomy Haven. I used to come here when me and my brother were not yet Path Slayers." He explained. "Twilight Tonic, please. Anong sa 'yo?" tumingin sya sa akin at tinanong ako.
"Just clear water." sagot ko. He smirked at sinenyasan ang barista.
"Hindi ka mahilig uminom?" tanong nito bigla.
"Water is far healthier than I don't know what that drink you've ordered is." sagot ko. "Thank you."
"I'm just asking if you're not drinking this type of drink" simpleng paliwanag nito.
"There you have your answer." I said to him.
"Lumingon ka"
When I heard that voice again, I was taken aback. I looked around, trying to find its source, but I couldn't find it. It felt like my body was acting on its own when I suddenly realized I was moving my head toward the person behind me without realizing it.
"Berserker's Brew, please" The man spoke. That voice, which I recognize now, reminds me of the person I met and who informed me that Nana Babaylan was missing. Only a few moments ago, before we came here, I felt his presence. What does he want from me this time, and who is he?
I saw Kael's movement in my peripheral vision, he's drinking while looking directly straight in front. That moment I knew he was observing, or was he? seems like the time stops momentarily
Then, he carefully took something out of his cloak. A letter!
I was about to ask him what this is when the man spoke.
"Something that could change everything,” the man spoke cryptically, his gaze darting around the dimly lit tavern. “But that’s not why I’m here." The man moved closer, his breath warm against my ear, and he spoke with an eagerness and intrigue that I could almost hear in his scarcely audible voice. "Keep in mind that there are a lot of invisible threats in the world. There are people, hiding in plain sight, who would love to see you fail. When the chips are down, even your closest allies can become your biggest enemies, so keep your heart in check and your head active."
"What do you mean by that?" I asked him.
"Huh, ano 'yon?" Tanong ulit nito.
“Just remember, not all threats are visible.” His voice is now echoing.
"Aiden-" I cut Kael's words.
"Let's get out of this place." sabi ko at agad na tumayo lumabas dala dala ang sulat na binigay sa akin nung lalaking 'yon.
As I left the tavern, an unsettling series of events made my greatest nightmare come true. My surroundings felt very troubling as five clever eyes peered out of the darkness. Knowing that every action could result in my death triggered a wave of horror to wash over me. In front of me came the Shadows Vanguard, a highly talented force of Path Slayers notorious for their cruelty. My pulse was racing with urgency. What would I do in such a risky situation? Even though I was completely aware that I was ensnared in their poisonous web, fear kept me from carrying out my escape preparations.
"Impressive, Kael. You trapped him here." I hear Mira speak. Clapping as if what happened amazed her, I looked behind and saw Kael. Summoning his scythe, then I realized what that man said. Ito ba ang ibig sabihin niya? Disappointment and betrayal clouded my mind. Was this a true betrayal, or did I misjudge the situation?
"Aiden Blake Carter, You find yourself surrounded, with no way out,. Do not even consider fighting back, this would be a grave mistake. If you choose to resist, you will face a violent and cruel end, fast and ruthless. Consider your options carefully, as the consequences of defiance are severe." Clisandro spoke with full authority.
"I'm sorry Aiden, but we have to act. Now die!"
