excursion

The students gathered in the main hall, chatting excitedly, waiting for the principal’s announcement. Finally, the room quieted as Mr. Thompson stepped up to the microphone. “Quiet, students! I have good news for everyone,” he began, his voice booming across the hall. “We will be having an excursion to a museum in Brooklyn! Every parent will be informed. There will be buses and accommodations provided—everything is arranged. It’s going to be a great trip!” The students in the hall beamed with excitement, whispering among themselves about the upcoming adventure. Ivy turned to Elsa with a grin. “The last time we went on an excursion, we didn’t get the same room. I really hope we don’t get the same room this time.” Elsa rolled her eyes but answered with a smirk. “You’re such an evil person.” But before Ivy could respond, the principal spoke again. “The excursion is in three days. We’ll be spending five days at the museum, and your parents will be receiving emails about the trip. If your parents pay for you, you’re in.” The hall erupted in cheers, the excitement contagious. “That’s all, folks. You can head back to your classes now!” Mr. Thompson called out. The students scattered, chatting eagerly about the trip. The four friends made their way to their next class, the idea of the excursion filling their thoughts. The school day ended, and the four of them piled into Ethan’s car. They drove straight to Ivy’s house. Upon arriving, Ivy’s mom was already home, packing some things in the living room. “Where are you going, Mum?” Elsa asked, curious. “I have a business deal,” her mum replied, glancing at her watch. “I need to be at the airport before 4. “sweetie, it’s just a week-long trip. By the way, your school sent an email about the excursion. I’ve already paid,” she added, packing a few more items into her suitcase. “What if I don’t want to go?” Elsa taunted with a grin, teasing her mom. “You have to, sweetie,” her mum replied with a chuckle, continuing to pack. “Fine,” Elsa said, rolling her eyes. “I guess we’re all going then.” She walked off to her room, where her friends had already made themselves comfortable. As she stepped in, she saw them lounging around, laughing and talking. “Wow,” Elsa said, shaking her head. “You guys really make yourselves at home.” "Let’s play a game!" Alex announced, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "The first to bring a bottle of water gets to clean the room after we're done. Really?" Elsa asked, raising an eyebrow. "Yup!" they all chorused, grinning. "Okay, fine," Elsa said, crossing her arms, already feeling like she might regret this. Alex counted down dramatically, "One, two, three!" In an instant, Ivy, Ethan, and Alex pulled out their bottles of water, smirking at Elsa, who was left standing there, dumbfounded. "You guys cheated!" Elsa exclaimed, hands on her hips. "You had them with you all along!" Ivy burst out laughing. "Nah, we were just ready, that’s all." "You’re so unfair!" Elsa complained, trying to look serious but failing as she joined in on the laughter. They all started arguing playfully, the energy in the room shifting to a mix of teasing and fun. While they bickered, they ran around and did some random silly stuff, like throwing water at each other and pretending to be competitive in the most exaggerated way. "Okay, okay, I’ll clean up," Elsa finally relented, holding her hands up in surrender. "But you guys are still cheaters!" "I’ll take the win," Alex said smugly, grabbing the nearest bottle of water to wave it around. The room was filled with laughter and playful chaos as they all settled down, knowing that the clean-up would be a bit more fun than they thought. After hours of watching movies, playing games, and arguing, the group finally realized one thing—they were really hungry. "I can't do this anymore," Ivy said dramatically, holding her stomach. "Let's cook something!" Elsa, already getting up, looked over at her friends. "Alright, let’s get to it." The group of them, groaning but eager for food, followed her into the kitchen. But, as usual, the chaos continued. "I really want pancakes," Ivy insisted, opening the cupboard to grab some flour. "No way! We’re having smashed potatoes and scrambled eggs," Alex countered, already pulling out potatoes from the pantry. "Ivy, we are not making pancakes," Elsa said firmly, trying to maintain control of the situation. The argument continued between Ivy and Alex, both of them stubbornly pushing their own ideas of what they wanted to eat. "Why are you always against pancakes?" Ivy huffed. "Because smashed potatoes are better f You can’t beat eggs and potatoes," Alex shot back. Elsa, who had had enough of the back-and-forth, finally raised her voice. "Enough! Both of you, OUT!" She pointed toward the door of the kitchen. Ivy and Alex exchanged a quick look but decided not to argue further as Elsa gave them a death stare. "We’ll just make our own stuff!" Ivy muttered under her breath as she headed toward the living room, followed reluctantly by Alex. Elsa sighed, rolling her eyes, but a smile tugged at her lips as she turned to Ethan. "Looks like we’re cooking after all. You ready?" Ethan gave her a half-smile. "Let’s just get this over with."
