Emma peeled her swollen eyes open when her alarm went off. They were dry as dirt despite how much she had cried yesterday. She groaned and rolled over after hitting snooze. Remembering she had fallen asleep in a man's arms, she quickly looked over to see a folded piece of paper on the pillow beside her instead of Matthew’s hard body that was pressed tightly against her own all night. She slowly moved her hand to grasp the page, noting the cold sheets, and rolled on her back, rubbing her eyes to read what it said.
