CHAPTER SEVENTEEN June 24, 1937 ~ Dr. Steven’s Journal ~ Bar-side Service. Three people attended. I was one. Plus the guy sitting at the bar. “Let us pray.” I removed my straw hat and bowed my head when the Reverend began to pray. First time attending a funeral service inside a bar. A distinct odor of alcohol could be perceived with each word that was prayed. Never mind. It didn’t matter. Henry’s own brother hadn’t even shown up. His own brother.
