CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

Just one month to the day.
What began as the worst assignment of my career just one short month ago, turned out to be the most enlightening.
I sit here in Thelma’s Diner, where it all began.
The pain.
The people who had lost loved ones.
Henry.
Fear.
Depression.
Did I find answers?
Not really.
I was able to do the Professor of Agriculture things, like analyzing the water and soil. I helped the farmers find ways to push back the threat of losing their farms and livelihoods, due to drought. Makes it all worthwhile.
I was able to help people find closure.
These people will forever be in my heart.
I could say I’ll be back. But deep down we all know that I’ll go wherever
