25 Battling Demons April had nearly refused to participate when she first saw the chair with its metal clamps that tightened down to hold pinned even the tiniest, thinnest of the children. It looked like a device for torture. Just being held in that chair, clamped at knees and ankles, elbows and wrists, chest and even neck, would be deeply disturbing no matter what else followed.
