" Why her? He questioned, rhetorically. " I've been trying to put this behind me, why does she have to show her face to me again, for f**k sake". He complained to his wolf. As his human complained on and on about not wanting to be in the space as Malina, he on the other hand was amused by the situation and couldn't help laughing at his other half's discomfort.

Once upon a time Ryan would do anything to be in the place with Malina, would do the unspeakable just so, she could notice him. He had participated in a competition between alphas of different packs just so he could prove his worth to her. The first time he talked to her, he was a stuttering mess. While Ryan was acting like a love struck puppy whenever Malina was mentioned, Hati despised her, he had been wary of her since the day his human half met her, there was just something shady about her, he just didn't like her presence, this is the only time, the wolf found her presence entertaining and that's at the expense of his human half.

The entire ride to the airport was filled with awkward silence, aside from when Malina had engaged in a one-sided conversation. The whole ride was uncomfortable for Ryan, the tension in the car was thick one could slice a knife through it.

" This definitely is going to be a hell of a ride home'. Ryan thought. " Well I'm surely looking forward to it". Hati cackled in his head.

Soon enough they got to the airport and Malina drove to the airport's information desk to collect a paper brochure, for what? Is beyond Ryan. She collected it along with the map of all P+ R parkings and parking garages. After that she bought a ticket and went to park in a place she called'' the white zone, parking zone." Like Alpha King cares about where she parked the car. It was the last thing on his mind.

"The maximum parking time is usually ninety minutes, but because of who you are, in the supernatural world and the connection you have in the human world, you were given an hour and by then a pack member of the crescent moon pack would have arrived to drive the car back to the pack". She explained, blatantly fishing for his attention. Anything to get him to acknowledge her presence.

Immediately after parking the car, Ryan had turned to carry the backpack he placed in the back seat of the car when he entered the car wanting to be rid of her presence for however long it takes, when he noticed Malina holding his hand, even for just a few minutes he wanted to be away from her why is she clinging unto him? He looked at her face then to where her hand rested on his questioningly. She said nothing to the unasked question and just stared at him as if searching for something on his face. Her stare was so intense that it made him feel uneasy. He knows how manipulative she can be, he had experienced it first hand, he was one of her many victims, and the only one alive till date. Most of them in his pack are oblivious of her true nature including his beta. He was well aware of her expertise in manipulation but he still couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt at the way he had treated her. He had vowed to never be a victim of her mind games ever again but why is he still..... His thoughts were cut off by his wolf." We can't accept her never ever, I'll leave you if you ever think of getting back together with her". Hati threatened." Besides we have a mate somewhere out there, you can't get attached to someone else, and I hate her. It's what you know, you'd better know what you're doing. Our mate can pop up at any time". His wolf warned him". " Well we can always reject her". Ryan interjected without giving a second thought. " No! Never! Hati loves mate, won't reject mate". His wolf growled at him. " Suit yourself", Ryan replied dismissively. He blocked the link between him and his wolf, preventing any protest from his wolf. He looked at Malina, thinking she's just like every other girls, she doesn't give a f**k about her mate, and probably would have decided to reject whoever her mate turned out to be if he isn't someone of power, all she wants is wealth and power, she'd let any man in her pants just so she could attain power and whatever wealth the man possess, a typical b***h. Ryan thought, shaking his head.

She waited patiently for him to say something and when she realized he wasn't going to entertain her sighed heavily, slumping her shoulders dramatically in defeat before getting out of the car, slamming the car-door not-so-gently. "Poor car". Ryan said sympathizing with the car. " That could have been you". Hati piped in.

He got out of the vehicle, took his luggages and walked to the terminal, he had barely taken five steps when two men dressed in a two piece black suit walking up to them, making Malina who was a few steps ahead of him stop in her tracks, dropping the bags she was carrying not so subtly as she waited for him to catch up with her. As soon as he was a few feet away from her she moved closer to him and clung to him like a bee. The men reached them in no time, obviously witness to what had happened but kept mum about it and instead helped them with their luggages and with Malina clinging to him like someone on life support they escorted them to the private jet . The jet was more than what he had expected, he was impressed with how well Mr Bertoldo's pack was doing. He hadn't expected crescent moon pack to be able to afford such luxury, not that he's been obnoxious it's just that he had no idea the crescent moon pack was very wealthy but then he should have expected them to be seeing as they are the second top pack.

Blake was already at the airport when they landed. He stood beside an Aston Martin one-77 car, typing ceaselessly on his newest version of iphone, when suddenly his head snapped up and turned in the direction where no doubt he caught the scent of his alpha and best friend coming from.

During the years Ryan had stayed abroad, he and Blake had stayed in touch and Blake had also been to crescent moon pack once for his beta training, but as required he had only spent five years before returning to the palace and also his pack. Normally, it's not allowed and also not sensible for both the alpha and beta to be away from the pack at the same time for a long period of time, but theirs was different because Blake hadn't taken up his beta position and that's what the beta training was for. As well as other training academies for the different positions held in the pack.

Theo, the soon to be Delta of the pack and Pate the soon to be Gamma of the pack went to Blue Moon pack, one of the top three packs, for their training. They couldn't go the same year Ryan and Blake left for the crescent moon pack to begin their alpha and beta training cause although they hadn't taken up their posts yet except for Blake, all the high ranking officials or soon to be can't be away from pack land all at once for security reasons. They left when Blake had returned from the crescent moon pack after completing his beta training.

Ryan alighted from the plane observing his friend who seems to be doing the same thing. His friend hadn't changed over the years,he was still the same person he grew up with. He still had the same features, but more defined and manly, compared to the last time they saw each other he's gotten more built with ripped muscles he and there, it seemed they were gonna rip his shirt apart any moment, he's grown taller , skin more tanned, hair longer than the last time they saw each other, he looked different yet familiar. He's no longer that cute mischievous kid he grew up with, but now a man, "man? More like an overgrown baby,I doubt he'll ever mature" Hati quipped. He's no longer the beta's son but the beta himself. " Not yet," Hati interjected. "You're well aware the coronation Day, also a day picked for ranking of the top post in the pack, is all formalities". I was reminded .

" Yeah, whatever makes you feel better". Hati grumbled".

" Yeah, better than what makes you" I returned.

" Petty as always", he said sourly. "A cry baby as usual". I mocked him.

" Shut the hell up". Hati grumbled. " Hold on a sec, you still exist, I almost thought you went extinct", I mocked him again. " Almost thought? Seriously and you're supposedly king of our kind", Hati fired back before he managed to block him.

He was extremely tired, it felt like he was just returning from "The supernatural world war III". The ride had drained every bit of energy in him, probably not the ride but Malina who had prevented him from resting, "Properly". She was insufferable. Had flirted with him every chance she got the entire time they spent on the plane, her whiny voice grated on his nerves, the only reason he's holding himself back was (1) they were up in the air, though the thought of flinging her out of the plane through the windows is beginning to seem like a very good idea, (2) she's a lady, though to him it sounds lame, cause she's a lady doesn't mean she can molest him and he should just deal with it. Seriously she'd even tried touching Mr sensitive thank goddess for his fast reflex he'd quickly stopped her before things went out of hand. "Mr sensitive? Hati scoffed. She was annoying to the point where he had to lie about needing to use the bathroom, she had suggested tagging along but he had refused successfully getting rid of her, for the meantime. After stalling for a few minutes in the bathroom, he turned on the faucet and left it on. The water flowing in the mini bathtub in the plane, he snuck out of the bathroom and went to the bedroom in the plane to get some sleep. That plan flew out the window, as soon as I entered the room only to find her in it with a knowing look on her face. She smirked as I stared at her frozen in place. I groaned as I sat on the edge of the bed, it hadn't been two minutes he sat on the chair when the spawn of the devil had crawled on the bed to his side, she stretched her hands aiming for his zipper no doubt wanting to give him a b*****b, like the actual f**k! He had had enough of her pestering him and out of anger had not so gently pushed her off the bed she had landed with her butt on the floor.. "More like flinged her". Piped Hati. The look on her face was priceless, he would have laughed at her if not for his identity. She was still in shock, not believing what had happened, it took her a while to get over her shock and when she regained her composure she got up, dusted herself and stomped out of the room.

" Hahaha, real funny, if only you had seen the look on her face". Hati cackled, unable to control himself. " I did see the look on her face, lest you forget the dummy". I reminded him. " You're no fun". He grumbled displeased with me.

"Finally I can get some rest without any disturbance". I said. " I doubt it". Hati quipped. As soon as he said those words, the pilot, as if waiting for him to talk, announced right on cue, that they'll be landing very soon.

"Seriously!". I exclaimed out of annoyance. The pilot, unaware of my distress, instructed every passenger, even though we were only four, to fasten their seatbelt. I got up from the bed begrudgingly and went to sit down somewhere that's not too close to Manila for the sake of my sanity. But I don't have to worry because it seems like she'd rather be anywhere than be seated next to me. " seems like she's still sulking, I wonder how long it will last before she's back to clinging to you". Hati said amused. " I pray It's forever". I replied. "You wish". He mocked me, laughing at my expense. He was happy at my discomfort, such a sadist. " Like you're one to talk". Was his response before I blocked him.
