It was supposed to be a question, but Alexander didn't give her a chance to answer. He just pushed the door open and walked right in.
Words failed Evelyn.
She instinctively ducked underwater, glaring at him with a fierce expression. "Mr. Stuart, is this what you mean by 'you are not that low'? So what do you call barging in when I'm at my most inconvenient?"
Alexander squinted at her, a voice in his head egging him on.
But the moment he thought she might belong to Derek, all his fantasies came to a screeching halt.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" she snapped. "Do you seriously have some wicked thoughts? Let me tell you. You can't do this."
Alexander's eyes darkened, and he tossed something from his hand into her arms. "Catch."
