"Can you come pick me up?" I sobbed into the phone.
"What happened?" I heard his voice rise in anger.
"I need you" I whimpered.
I waited at the bus stop for about a half hour before a sleek black sedan pulled up and he got out and pulled open the passenger's seat door. I stayed silent and got in, not uttering a word. He understood that I needed sometime so he just drove, no questions asked.
"I guess being a doctor, really pays well huh?" I asked breaking the silence.
I gave him a half-hearted smile as he turned to look at me.
"Want to talk about it?" Joe asked.
"Let's go somewhere first" I faked a smile.
