My heart was beating fast and I could not believe that David was on top of me. Something in his eyes seemed sincere and he was searching my eyes for something. I couldn’t tell what it was. He looked like he really wanted an answer to a question that only my eyes could give him. I was just about to lean in, when he let go of me. His serious expression had turned into a playful one almost immediately.
"Just checking." he said as he smirked and lay back down.
My cheeks turned red at this. He knew the effect he had on me and he was completely smug about it. I turned my back to him and tried to fall asleep as soon as possible to avoid embarrassing myself further.
