Recently Shane has been thinking a lot about settling down with L.J. He definitely wanted to marry her, but he didn't want to do it right now. First, he needed to make sure that he has a good job and that he can support himself before he tries to support her. He wanted to give her everything goos she deserves and he wanted to make her happy for the rest of her life.
