One summer morning L.J woke up, made her way downstairs expecting the house to be empty but instead she found her mother in the kitchen with a cup of coffee in her hand. Their eyes met, and her mother looked away in shame, not being able to look her in the eye after all the lies she told her daughter.
"Morning mother" L.J says, ignoring the fact that she wanted to yell at her mother, and played the better person. She heard her mother shift in her seat as L.J made herself a strong cup of coffee, and she knew that her mother wanted to tell her something.
"I wanted to say…sorry" The words that came out of her mother's mouth sounded more like a question that a statement and it almost made L.J give a sinister laugh out loud at that.
"Thanks" L.J didn't really put any effort into her tone
