(Note: any and all comments throughout the story by readers are welcome as I am a new writer and would love some constructive criticism :) ) An old record player sat beside a desk, which began to play by itself. I laughed a little when I immediately heard a rock song play, as I had expected classical music. Lilith must have as well since she immediately looked at Pararu; This must-have happened often for her to know it was him and not Renee. The swift snap of his fingers turned it off as he cleared his throat, slightly pursuing his lips, then throwing me a minute smirk at my amusement. After a few more minutes of gawking at my surroundings, I realized this room looked just as familiar as those drawings. "It's like a memory from a dream.... how do I know this place?" I said as I walked to the shelves in front of me, scanning its contents. "You used to-" "Pararu!" Lilith's voice echoed in the room as she cut him off, her expression at him as if it could tear into his soul. His face cringe at the tone and look, his hands making fists in his jacket pockets as he clenched his jaw. The situation confused me, which must have shown on my face as Renee walked over. "Um... don't worry about him, he doesn't know what he's talking about." Her smile was fake, but I caught the glance she gave to Lilith. I felt the tension of a hidden subject, knowing it must have been about me. "Am I missing something?" I asked as I looked at Pararu. As I did, his face looked pained, as if my question disturbed him. He mumbled while walking to a shelf a few feet away, grabbing an assortment of books and sitting down at the desk. "Nothing to worry about. Now, I'm sure you're wondering why you're here." She walked a few feet before stopping by Pararu, leaning down to his ear a moment. His face was angry at whatever she was saying. She stood up again and sighed. "Hikari I will be back in a bit, I have business that I need to handle, we will speak then. Renee come with me." She said as she walked to and out the door, Renee following close after. The door closed with a metallic click, leaving Pararu and myself alone in the quiet room. I stood awkwardly for a moment trying to decide what I was supposed to do. Pararu looked at the door and then stood up. "So she was right. You really don't remember." He said as he looked at the book in front of him. I tilted my head in confusion as he then turned and walked toward me stopping just a few inches away. "You don't remember because she erased the memories for your protection.... rather...For everyone's protection. But... I..." the pained look crossed his face again. "Wait..." I tried to focus my now swirling mind. "What don't I remember? " The more I listened to his voice the more it felt like I had heard it before, but I had no recollection. Before I could continue, his lips were on mine. A grainy image of him calling my name and me being pulled away came to my mind, but I couldn't focus it, it was like a TV that was going out and would not give you the whole picture. A tear rolled down my face and an unwavering sadness wash over me. So there I stood with his kiss, in this unknown place, feeling as if my heart was breaking. Who's feelings were these? Mine?.... or his?
