*Episode 10: New Bonds, Old Lessons*
Weeks passed.
Abike was now fully surrounded by peace. She wasn’t chasing anyone. She wasn’t trying to prove anything. Mufidat, her new friend, had brought calm, laughter, and realness into her life — something she didn't realize she was missing until now.
One sunny afternoon, while walking back from class, Mufidat said,
*"Abike, I love how you handle things… You forgive, but you don’t beg people to stay. That’s rare."*
Abike smiled. "It's because I’ve been through it. Glory taught me a lesson the hard way."
Mufidat looked at her curiously. "Do you ever miss her?"
Abike paused. "Not her. I miss who we used to be. But not who she became."
Later that day, Abike received a group photo in her old class group. Everyone was sharing memories from their last school party. She scrolled through the comments — everyone laughing, tagging friends, talking about “the good old days.”
Then she saw Glory’s comment under one of the photos:
*"Not every broken friendship deserves a fix. Some just taught us who we really are. No hard feelings, just growth."*
Abike didn’t feel triggered. In fact, she smiled.
Growth.
They both had changed. Not enemies. Just strangers with shared memories. That evening, Abike journaled something she hadn't been able to write for months:
*"I’m proud of myself. For walking away without hate. For healing without needing revenge. And for becoming the kind of friend I once wished I had."*
As the sun set and a cool breeze filled the air, she sat outside with Mufidat. They laughed over inside jokes, shared dreams, and took silly photos.
Abike had lost a best friend.
But she had gained herself.
And this version of her — stronger, wiser, happier — was the real win.
