Chapter 38 The next morning, I wake up in Val's arms feeling exhausted. My body aches like I've been in a fight, and my head is pounding. "How are you feeling?" Val asks softly, his hand stroking my hair. "Like I got hit by a truck," I admit. "Is this normal?" "DreamWalking takes a toll on your body," Val explains. "Especially when you do it accidentally. Your mind and soul were traveling while your body stayed behind. It's disorienting." I groan and bury my face in his chest. "Abe wants to start training today," I mumble. "I know," Val says gently. "But we can wait if you need to rest." "No," I say, forcing myself to sit up. "The sooner I learn control, the sooner I can help you. I'm not waiting." Val smiles at me, pride shining in his eyes. "You're stubborn," he says fondly.
