THE SIGNED DEAL

Just as I stepped out of the car,the media welcomed me and his security guards tried to shield me from them and we walked into the building,I wasn’t able to get a glimpse of the building but I could tell it was a huge building,inside was magnificent,all eyes were on me,some appreciating my beauty and some whispering within themselves then I heard someone said,”who is she?,I have never seen a lady here except for clients.

I won’t them for that,cause the all know their boss as Gay,I felt like laughing but I composed myself,his secretary led me to the elevator doorand she said,”4th floor”,and walked out,the elevator door slid open with a soft ding,got to the fourth floor of the building,the elevator slid open and I stepped out,every step echoes,I walked towards JOSH office and knocked

“Come in”,a soft deep voice said

I saw Josh standing in front of his desk,dark shirt sleeves pushed up,his phone was on his ear.”I’ll call you later”,he said and hanged up the call.

He smiled as he glanced at me,his smile is extremely cute and charming,just like he has been expecting me.

“Don't smile yet”,I said,”I'm not saying yes”

“Allow me compliment you first”he said,as he smiled

I was already in another word,not his voice so calm and lovely,I quickly realized myself

“No,thank you let’s get to business”,I said

“You look beautiful i must say,I think red should be your color”,he smiled

“You guess right,thank you”I answered,

“Please have your seat,sorry for keeping a queens standing”he said

“Let’s get into business,what is the whole marriage thing all about and I need to know my roles “,I said as I got seated

The chair is so soft and dark black colored,I sat down,back straight and clutching my purse on my lap.

He sat on his seat,his both hands on the table,”I know this is crazy”,but here is the thing like I explained to you before,I need a wife for a business contract and note just business no feelings attached to it”,he said,just for a short period of time

I rosed my brows and asked,for a short period of time right?How long?,month,year?

Josh answered,”probably 6 months,when the contract is being signed and rumors dies off we can officially end it,are you in?”

He did t allow me to answer,”never dated before”,he asked

“ do you expect me to answer“,I asked him

So…where is another thing,we attend dinners,go on a dates and few public events,just to make it look convincing so people don’t think we’re fake.

“But I haven’t attended one before,I don’t know how to act in public?”

Josh walked around the table and sat on the desk close to me.

“I’ll get someone to teach you everything you need to know and change your wardrobes,just have to act like you love me in public” he said

I scoffed,”That’s fine”

Silence,broke between us for some times

There’s something about himthat doesn't seem like it. Why are people calling him Gay,when he speaks so calmly and well mannered with me, though everyone has one opinion about someone.

I exhaled softly,”can I see the contract?”

“You’ll have it in an hour”

“Can I have part of the money up front”,I asked him

“Yes,sure”he answered

I blinked and asked,”didn’t agrue?”.

He leaned forward slightly,”I pay for what I need without hesitation,and I need you”

I could see sincerity in his words,he won’t mess with me.

An hour later,a man on black suit arrived his legal assistant,handed a paper to Josh then he gave it to me,I read each line carefully.My roles,the timeline and everything I needed to know what written there and what got my attention was,no intruding of privacy,no string attached,that’s fair enough.

When I was done signing the papers,he asked for my account details and wired the money to my account.

I kept staring at my phone notifications aa the money has entered my account.

“I suggest you don’t spend it at once”,he said teasing me

“I suggest you don’t tell me what to do with my money”,I replied

Josh laughed under his breath,”my bad”.

“Thank you for the money and the note,yesterday”,I thanked him as I was about going out

His guards led me to the car park where his driver was already waiting for me and he dropped me at the entrance of my house.

When I got home,I just crashed on my bed,my stomach was rumbling so bad,I didn’t eat when stepping out in the morning and it was already evening. I still haven’t eaten.

I stood up from the bed and walk to the kitchen and found an orange juice on the counter,still on makeup.I looked around my apartment,everything was already worn out and I needed to move out but then I didn’t have money to eat,not to talk of moving to another apartment.

My life has always be stressful,struggling to pay bills from pay check to pay bills and in a few second everything has changed

I opened my fridge to check if there’s anything for me to eat but there was nothing,I burst out laughing,I haven’t had time to cook.

“Am I really doing the right thing”, asked myself,marrying a stranger,trading me pride for luxury

Well ... .i don’t have a choice,seeing jobs is difficult.

I'm only trying to survive,I don’t know what the next few months will bring but am going all in for it,I poured out the juice and sat my the window,watching the streets and let the night Miami breeze roll in.

Meanwhile,josh in his penthouse,he poured himself a scrotch and stared at the lights blinking across the water,whispering to himself”yes,I have found someone”feeling happy and excited.

He grabbed his phone and dialed his friend number

“Man,she agreed to it”,Josh said

“Wow,that’s nice,how did you convince her?”,robert asked

Josh started explaining how he met me on his way back to his office and we spoke, and finally signed the contract.Robert couldn’t believe I’ll agree to it so easily but then again I was desperate for it.

“So have you made a press conference about it”,Robert asked

“Not yet,I need to coach for some days after that I’ll release a statement”,Josh replied

“Okay,that’s cool at least you got a wife and the rumors will die off”,Robert said laughing out

Josh and Robert both laughed,Robert has been Josh's friend since high school and they’re so close that you’ll mistake them for brothers but they’re best friends.

The call ended.

The next morning,Josh sent a text to her,”I’ll be taking you shopping,pls get dressed”.I called him to ask him what time but he said he was already at my gate.

“You should have told me in time”,I told him

“I did”,Josh replied

That’s true he sent the message since last night,i didn't read it

“I’ll be down shortly”,I said and ended the call

I quickly showered,I didn’t have much time to get dressed but I wore a silky black dress and headed out.

When I got to the gate I met his driver at the car door,he opened up and he slid in.

“Good morning Josh”,I said to him

“Good morning,how was your night?”,he asked warm

“Too short”,I said

He smiled and my stomach started rumbling,at the worst time.He head it and asked the driver to make a stop at a restaurant,we ate and then to the boutique

I was ushered in by the attendant who barely blinked,The store smell like velvet and vanilla.Then we met the stylist,spoke for a few minutes and ushered me to a mirror I stood as she circled me,measuring,poking and designing gowns flow from my skin.i changed into different outfits,until she settled for a silky red dress.

“I look like a fancy ice cream topper”,she muttered

Josh sitting on his chair and his eyes on his phone,glanced and smiled

“You look beautiful,I must say”

I shot him a glare,”That a compliment ?”

“Yes”,he said

His tone was soft,his eyes lingered over a second too long on my curves of my waist.

The stylist cleared her,”MR TAYLOR,your girlfriend beautiful,you chose well”.

I smiled at her words,I felt like a real wife for some minutes and Josh thanked,paid her and we walked out.

We were silence till we got to my apartment,you’ll be moving over to my house tomorrow and your coach will be coming,pls gather your bags,my driver will come pick you up”Josh said

“I’ll be leaving with you?”,i asked him and he said yes

“But I need time to pack my stuffs,I was thinking of moving out into a new apartment”,I told him

He replied,”Don't worry about that,I’ll get someone to do that,just get your personal belongings”.

Moreover,I don’t have properties, everything is worn out and needs replacement so that wasn’t much of a concern.

“Alright,what time will he be coming?”I asked him and he said by 12am.

We bid each other goodbyes and he went off

I didn’t bother going into my apartment,I needed to get food and drinks that’ll eat,I entered a nearby restaurant, ordered some take out and was about to go when I saw the rude guy who made them fire me and kept staring at me till I walked out of the door.

On my way home I felt like someone was following me and then I turned back around but nobody was there. I quickly fasted my steps then turned around again and the rude man was following me.I ran inside a restaurant and waited for him to go before going back to my apartment.

I was so scared,I called my best friend and told her about the man she told me to report him for stalking but that’ll be bad for him,I told her that he won’t do such a thing again.

“Girl I need to eat,I’ll call you back later”,I told her

“Wait wait wait,you didn’t tell about Josh again i need the full story and I’ll be coming to your place tomorrow”,Tessa said,

“Sorry babes,I won’t be around am moving out and I promise to tell you every when am settled”,I told her

“You’re moving out,how,where and when,where did you get money from to move out,you don't have any savings?,she asked laughing out

“Well…something’s happen recently,which I promised to tell you the full story when we see,but for now am hungry i need to eat babes…”,I said

“Promised?”,tessa asked

“Promised”,good night babes and she ended the call.

It’s been a long time since I ate in my apartment. It felt really nice that my life after my parents passed away has been work and work,I didn’t have time for myself or anyone else.

I looked at my account,there are millions which I haven’t seen or been able to save since I started working and I have it sitting pretty in my account.I'll give this job all my best.I murmured to myself Josh is going to see the actress in me and I laughed out loud.
