Her dream

I couldn't stop crying as his head lay on my lap with his eyes shut. I couldn't see his beautiful blue orb anymore. Blood dripped from his mouth as I continued shaking his lifeless body in tears. " Leona, it's okay. It's just a dream" I kept hearing the voice of a man but I couldn't open my eyes nor stopped crying. I was heartbroken that I felt like dying with him, my heart was torn apart as I maintained shaking the lifeless body and blaming myself for not doing anything to help him.

I moved his white hair from his face and the face I saw wasn't the man I was expecting. I stoop up abruptly and dusted my dress as my red eyes loomed around the woods with the hope of seeing him" looking for someone?" A deep voice trembled the ground as I looked back to see a man standing a few distances from me.

His white hair was the only thing that stood out in the darkness. Suddenly my wounded heart subsided peacefully in my chest with the warm air that surrounded him " it's not too late to give her back to her original owner" another voice interrupted and in a blink, I saw him fighting him as he went on repeating the word" mine!!"

" What do you think is wrong with her" I could hear voices " obviously stuck in a bad dream" I continued hearing the strange voice as my heart pounded vigorously in my chest." This is the end of the road for you, Kane" he smiled devilishly and raised his claws to slammed his neck" Kane!!" I woke up in a haste panting, after observing my surrounding I realized we were still in the car as I was crushed by Copper's concerned expression" It's just a dream" Copper's worried voice reached my ears. I sighed and scoured the sweat off my forehead as I nodded to him. It felt real, but I didn't understand any part of the dream." Do you want to say anything about it" he said casually but in a worried tone and flashed me a small smile." Can a wolf smell poison?" I asked and he gawked at me with an expressionless face. " it depends" he shrugged and my fear enhanced.

We reached the borders of the blood moon pack but the warriors refused to let us in. Three of them surrounded our car. Copper had tried to mind link him but he didn't respond to any of it. That alone drew my mind off guard.

" Stay in the car" He pulled the door closed. I couldn't let them see me or I wouldn't be able to save Kane, he needed my help. I couldn't let alpha Karl have his way with him.

The death of mom and Lilly happened because I was helpless. I would hate myself if that incident happens again. I was not able to be of help to them but this time I could be of help to Kane " beta, they said we can't go in" Moses reported " beta?" Two of the blood moon warriors said at the same time. They looked surprised" the beta of the ring moon pack" Copper stepped down and introduced himself. Their faces changed to something else as they glared at each other " my alpha is in your pack" he added. " we need to contact our alpha and seek his permit. We were not informed about your arrival" one of the warriors told but I was on the run. I took the bush part on the right without any idea where I was heading.

I ran for what seemed like forever. " ah!" I slipped and fall to the ground with a heavy bang as my breath choked. I winked in pain and sat on my butt examining my scratched knee. I shifted my gaze and stared ahead. I was nowhere!

I ignored the pain and the oozing blood, and I ran forward to where I thought would lead me to him. Kane was in danger, if he consumes the poison then Karl would be the winner. I won't let him win. He doesn't deserve to be.

Though I had no clue of what transpired between them nor why they arrived at a conflict zone instead of a peace agreement, my conscious only spoke to me to inform him what evil plan was await him.

I emerged from the bush and bumped into two guards who were sitting under a tree with sweat all over my face. " stand there!" I froze when I thought I could run off without them noticing. I prayed to the moon goddess to help me and also save Kane. He didn't deserve to die. He saved me without questioning my background. He fought a vampire with his life just to free me.

"let's send her to the alpha" one said as the other glared at me from head to toe. My heart was pounding in my chest as if it was about to explode. Hearing the word alpha from them was enough to cage my bravery " get her" the other commanded.

They dragged me to the familiar place. The only place I recognized in the pack house, was the kitchen. We entered as all eyes sprout on me. I was taken to the dining area and when my eyes caught sight of Kane, I thanked the warrior for their help.

He didn't look surprised but his blue orb stared questionably at me as he raised to his feet.

Alpha Karl growled as anger spread on his face. " ceased her!" My eyes stared pleadingly at Kane. " wait" he voiced out coldly tracing his steps towards me. I lowered my chin sadly but I didn't regret my actions. I was ready to face his wrath. But on second thought, it was obvious I made a fool of myself. There was nothing unusual or suspicious. I shouldn't have come, I thought to myself as tears formed in my eyes.

He halted his steps a few feet away. I could feel his stares burning on me. Suddenly I felt the hold on me lose and the hall filled with noise. I looked up to see blood on his hand and the man holding me on the floor headless. I immediately covered my mouth with a palm in fear. Tears rained down my face, I had never seen something like that before. He killed the man with his claws just like vampires do. I stepped back from him as I was about to run beta Edward grabbed my hand" not again" he smiled devilishly " kill him!" Alpha Karl yelled and his men emerged from different angles of the room as if everything was planned and the she-wolves began running out of the hall " did you miss me that you chose to come back?" Alpha Karl shifted in his black wolf after speaking.

Kane was fighting the wolves in his human form, his eyes in my direction. He was fighting towards our standing point. " please don't hurt me" I said in tears. I didn't have the desire to die as my green eyes met his. He was fighting with the determination of winning and I believed he would. Kane would wine even if he was alone, that was how much I trusted my instincts.

I watched in horror as three wolves emerged behind him with their mouth wide open while on the other hand, Kane's concentration seemed to be on those in front of him who kept multiplying no matter how many he tore into sheared. The beautiful dining space I once admired turned into a blood zone. " behind you!" I yelled and beta Edward slapped me across the face such that my cheek was hurting as I fall to the floor.

Alpha Karl pounced on me with his claws ready to break my neck when suddenly someone shaded me out of the blue. My eyes were tightly shut when I heard the familiar voice " your mother" he whispered and I flipped my eyes unsealed in horror with my mouth slightly opened.

" Philip" I murmured in surprise, I looked around and alpha Karl was standing in his human form looking more shocked than hurt.

Copper entered the hall with a few men.

Kane reached to my side and punched him on the face before pushing Philip off me and carrying me in his arms in what they called bridal style." Are you okay?" He inquired in a smooth tone but the softness that used to be present in his eyes whenever he spoke to me wasn't there." Alpha, what do we do with them?" Copper caught up with us " leave them" Copper sighed and called his men to retreat. " I will see you again daughter of Mariam" alpha Karl yelled in a threatened tone.

On the drive back wherever was silent. I could tell the scary alpha was not pleased with my steps. " do you have anything to explain to me?" He shifted his head as his blue eyes bored into my soul." Am sorry" he scoffed angrily and I lowered my head" take it easy on the kid, alpha" Copper suggest from the front seat rubbing salt to the wound" stop the car" he ordered and the Moses did stopped" get out Copper" he growled.

" Sorry about that." He stepped down and the drive proceeded.

He raised my chin with his blood-stained hand and examined my red cheek. " who is Mariam?" His question brought tears to my eyes, his thumb rubbed my cheek tenderly" my mom" I said and he nodded." She is dead" I added for him to pull me to his warm chest where I felt I belonged " he killed her" I murmured in a rough voice" you are safe now" he assured me.

"Stop at the hotel" he commanded " mm Kane" I called out " alpha Kane" he corrected but I didn't have the appetite to address him like that. It was strange how brave I got " will you send me to the orphanage?"

He shook his head " where will you take me then?" I was afraid of leaving his side for a reason unknown to me perhaps because I was afraid alpha Karl would come for me." Somewhere safe" he replied.

He left me in the room all to myself when we got to the hotel. I was lonely and decided to go down and look around and if possible find Copper. I was used to this guy. I felt he was more open than Kane who always wanted everything to be on his term, I rolled my eyes and shut the door behind me.

" hye beautiful" I turned to see a boy my age grinning at me. His black hair fell on his back just a little lower than his shoulder level " are you new here, I haven't seen you around before. By the way, am Cornered " I watched his stretched hand in silence without any reaction" I can show you around if you want"

His offer was very tempting but I couldn't afford to anger Kane. I chuckled at my thought. It was funny how I had come to terms with his supremacy.

It was still strange why I was still thinking of his feelings when he left me on my own. Probably because I didn't want to see the coldness I saw in his eyes before.

The night was good on my side. Well, Cornered did me a great favor by taking me out. " it's fun being out here?" I nodded. We were currently laying on the grass just behind the hotel and a little closer to the pool facing the sky. " thank you, I think it's living out here" I smiled looking at the shining sky decorated with the stars.

Cornered raised to his feet and asked me to follow him " where?"
