The fire out

It was almost sunset but I still wasn't closer to finishing just half of the plates. I sighed staring down at my hands, they looked tired as well as my back.

I stretched my shoulders to exercise my bones and slowly my gaze landed on Priscilla, she was standing a little far behind me with her head held low. I rolled my eyes and sighed on top" I didn't hear you come in" I said but she was still standing like a statue. " what happened to you Priscilla are you finally learning to treat me like the princess that I am?" I joked, and the plate in my hand fell on the floor with a loud scary bang startling me, I looked around and my eyes settled on Kane, he was standing at the door with his hands caged in the pocket of his long black pant. He was watching expressionlessly at me. His white hair lingered on his face as his lips pressed tightly against each other. " sorry about that" I pointed to the shattered plate on the floor" I didn't mean it, I just..." He cut me off. " who asked you to show your face here?" He asked in a hushed tone glaring coldly at Priscilla. His cold anger cursed sharp air to fill the room, " sorry alpha, I was just following orders" Priscilla's voice came out in a low fearful tone.

" who asked you to order her?" He demanded as Priscilla shivered in her standing spot.

" I did, isn't why you brought her here?to serve the pack?" Ana came through the door with an arrogant expression plastered on her face. She halted beside Kane as she flipped her fingers with her other arm in her armpit." Besides, she can't be running around and doing nothing to help the pack so I thought of putting her to use since she eats and does everything for free" she scanned me from head to toe like some sort of garbage. For some unknown reason, her presents annoys me Since I didn't want to anger Kane I had stood her " and who told you she isn't helping the pack ?" He questioned coldly but one could detect the unpleasant in it. His eyes were on me, I chewed my bottom lips and slowly dropped my gaze. " Aren't slaves supposed to follow orders? Why is she any different? this one here disobeyed me together with my maid" she complained and I raised my head. Priscilla was just helping me " She was just helping me and I didn't.." Ana intervene" see, I told you how arrogant this girl is. She thinks she is some kind of Princess" she blurred without getting tired" what are you waiting for?" He asked probably buying her story. I just met her but I could say she would be a problem for my stay here.

She was young and beautiful but had an ugly character." I wonder who is the useless person that raised her" she scolded and my eyes watered. "my mom is a good woman" I retaliated "be quiet" Kane demanded and I dropped the soap in my hand as tears run down my cheek.

Meeting his gaze told me what step to take next" am sorry" I said sadly besides, what was the point of getting him annoyed? I didn't want to leave him in a position where he had to choose, though it hurt thinking that he trusts that imposter more than I do.

" not to me," he said " am sorry Ana," I said to her in a low tone" suit yourself" she snored, I guess she was not expecting me to accept my mistake that easily.

I hated it when someone speaks ill of my mom and it annoyed me seeing him defend others and not me" where are you going" Kane roared but I didn't look back" somewhere quiet" I said still walking " what did she say?!" She sounded unhappy with my reply. I heard Priscilla scoff" and you what are still doing there?" She commanded in her arrogant tone. I just ran far from the kitchen area.

I stopped and rested under the mango tree. I wiped off the tears on my face as I sniffed.

I looked up from the tree after I heard a loud bang. A mongo just fall from the tree" perfect timing" I said as I picked it up. " that should be mine" I was about to take a bit when a voice reached me. " huh?" I turned in the direction of the voice." Am Neo, I own everything here" he joked obviously " am Leona" I said with a smile " can I shake your hand?" He requested and I smiled awkwardly before placing my small hand in his. " I just wanted to make sure you are not my mate" he passed taking my seat " what makes you think I can be your mate?" I peered at him. " I just like you," he said without a second thought " you are the new girl the alpha brought" I nodded. Speaking of alpha I was angry with him. I felt he was siding with Ana.

" is there anything between you and him, I mean a relation?" I shook my head " then how come you are not with your family instead, don't tell me he kidnapped you" he said and I laughed.

He pushed for me to settle beside him.

We chatted for what looked like ages. I felt hungry and said goodbye "I can get you something to eat" he proposed but I objected besides, I had work to finish, and also I didn't want to be a burden to him" I will do it myself" I waved to him and left.

I was going to wash my plates when Priscila called me in. " take this to the alpha" she stared pleadingly at me. I collected the jar and walked to the dining where most of the pack members were enjoying their evening meal. I spotted Kane sitting with Copper and Ana.

I was about to put the jar on the table when the devil lady raised her hand and accidentally slammed the jar from my hand. It shattered on the floor as the water spreads reaching Ana's spot.

" you crazy kid!" She raised a hand to slap me when Kane blocked her hand" don't touch her" he warned before letting her go. She hissed and ran from the dining.

" Kane" I murmured but his growl made me tremble " alpha Kane" he threatened angrily. I guessed he was not happy with me for ruining Ana's dress. The heavy members of the pack, all staring at me left me embarrassed. I didn't even bother raising my head. As giggles continued to rain in the room.

" thank you" I whispered sadly as I turned back. I heard Copper chuckle.

There was no food left for me to eat, there was nothing except work to do.

"I brought this for you" Priscilla handed me a tray and I eyed her suspiciously. Wasn't she the same person who told me there was no food left for me? " you take it or I send it back" she threatened "thank you"

" It's the alpha's instruction" as if he cared, she bowed and left the cold food on the floor.

I was trying to heat my food as I put it on the stove. I saw smoke coming from the door at the corner. It was the storeroom

I went on curiously to take a look at how such a place could produce smoke. A room filled with fresh veggies and cold temperatures. Fire wailed up as I approached the door to the storeroom and I trembled back blacking my face with a hand. " ah" I moaned in pain when I fall on my butt.

I forced myself up to run back to the cooking area but by the time I returned coughing, the stove had also started a fire taking up at a fast pace. I got scared looking at how the fire was taking up the building, fear swallowed me.

" Leona" I heard my name and the voice told me who it was. A little hope lit up in me but I suddenly got worried for him, the fire was too much and I knew in my heart that he won't let me die in there.

Smoke had already taken over the room so was the fire. I had no idea when it happened but I was worried about Priscilla who was inside the baking area.

I couldn't go out nor move to her as I was left in the middle of the hell fire. " help!!" screamed holding my throat and coughing out my lungs, the floor was starting to heat up.
