Chapter Twenty-One The Map “Never had so many suffered for so few and never had so few had so many leaflets.”—Deidre In the early hours of the morning, DBO slipped out to Verruca’s kitchen. She was running out of food and info. From the moment she heard Hilda had shut down the shed, she knew she had to do something, and as time went on she was getting better at knowing what that something was. DBO had learned many things from sneaking around Verruca’s kitchen, even whispers of the library. It was amazing what Verruca stored in her fridge: slips of paper, maps, leaflets with the odd technology info. DBO had brains when it came to reworking instruments in the shed, but Verruca?
