Chapter Forty-One The Taj “Women took care of the books until men were overthrown. Then the women did all the things men did and forgot about the books.”—The Spark Plug Odyssey Woody, Pete, and Mex sat in the Taj Mahal waiting for the others. DJ had disappeared, muttering something about contacting his mentor/uncle, while Bunnie and Don were still arguing over the best place to pitch their tent. Don said the only decent spot was the top of the slope, to avoid the rain damming up. Bunnie, stating that they weren’t otters in a loch, refused to help. She argued that a pitch at the bottom of the slope was way better, along with a “who wants to walk up a slope in the dark after a few” comment. “Anyone who wants a dry tent,” muttered Don. “Sarcasm is the nether region of wit,” said Bunnie.
