Dimitri woke up feeling groggy. He was really tired and didn’t want to wake up but a cacophony of twisted horrid sounds jolted him awake from his sleep. With this slight scuffle he woke up picked up his blade and prepared to welcome his visitor. Dimitri gazed upon his surroundings. The rustic pillars that were somehow holding this place together his make-shift camp his traps and the unique rubble filled environ. Though darkness enshrined the “room” it was his safe heaven. Adjusting to the light he prepared for the attack at his “entrance”.
Enshrouded in darkness Dimitri hid in a pile of rubble close to the entrance, he wasn’t going to die cowardly and was going to protect his abode. Though every street was grasped by the arms of darkness one thing gave him hope, the presence of a moon hanging low amidst the darkened sky. No stars were present but a moon with a crimson hue filled the sky illuminating its reddened rays.
Dimitri shot a glance at his intruder as the moon revealed his features. The creature was huge and hideous with a gaunt body and long sinewy limbs. Its head was was disproportionately large for the emaciated torso. It’s head or what seemed like a head had numerous snake-like creatures popping of from its brain. It had two bloodshot eyes as its gaze landed onto Dimitri’s position. With another horrid scream it engaged an attack.
Dimitri silently cursed as he sprinted of that position. His pile of rubble was crushed under the creatures blow. An inaudible scream resounded from the creatures mouth. Dimitri felt his body grow weaker by the moment, his gaze was hazy as he tried to focus with the battle that he ensued.
Clarity is what Dimitri lacked. His body was bashed by the horrid agglomeration. He was thrown to the side and felt his body grow numb till pain rushed in bringing forth a bit of clarity. His arm twitched uncontrollably but he stood firmly rooted to the ground. The creature lunged at him trying to end him as quickly as possible. He sidestepped and dodged the blow as he got away by scratching his side. Though not fully immersed in the battle he managed to dodge some blows by a hairs breath. The creature was lacerated bleeding at all intervals but on Dimitri’s side the same went for him. His breath was haggard and uncontrolled. He was drained as a sweat dropped from his temples. His coordination was unsynchronized and shaky. He slumped onto his self made jian in an attempt to catch a breath but the cretin pounce onto him once more.
Dimitri dodger and headed onto one of his traps. Covered in dust a pile of handmade javelins were skillfully hidden. He picked up one and distanced himself from the cretin. With a sword in his arm and a javelin in another he prepared for an assault. With his dominant arm he skillfully arched his figure and hurled the javelin onto the cretins head.
The javelin tore through the air as it gracefully spun. In a daring attempt to save its life the wormed-cretin raised its arm to block the attack. The javelin blocked from its initial path tore through the creature’s arm deforming it. It screamed horridly and finally calmly lifted its figure. It’s bloodshot eyes lost their luster and turned grey. It’s worms glowed with a white hue. Its presence domineering it gazed onto Dimitri.
Same as before Dimitri felt his body grow weak his movements sluggish and his reaction speeds greatly reduced. He tried to make a run for it but his speed could not make up for the need.
-Another Trap- he thought but couldn’t find his second trap. Suddenly an arm smashed onto his in his dazed state throwing him all across the room. His footing destroyed and his stance messed up. But his luck proved true. His trusty bag was right beside him. He coughed slightly as he felt as if his ribs were broken. He hurriedly opened his bag to only to find a grenade. It was to be used for emergencies but only death awaited thus he had no options. He slightly smiled as he stood up with great difficulty. Slumped onto the wall of the cave he glared at the creature. It screamed horribly and lunged onto Dimitri.
His eyes shone as adrenaline rushed into his veins he smiled dodged the creature’s attack. With a grenade in his arms he jumped onto the creature’s bony back. Bloodlust permeated in the air as “it” tried to tear Dimitri up but lost its footing due to Dimitri’s earlier injuries. It fell with a thud its revolting worms reaching out to Dimitri. He avoided the assault and placed the grenade on it’s mouth plucking the safety pin and jumping off the creature.
-Boom- a resounding explosion filled the room. Brilliant light filled Dimitri’s eyes as he was thrown back.
It was all over and Dimitri picked up a javelin as he moved to the monster’s corpse. The creature’s body was charred as half its body had been consumed by the flames. Still it persisted on living. It twitched and twisted violently trying its best to attack Dimitri. It’s head, one arm and parts of its torso hadn’t been burned. The silently avenger slowly approached him. With a javelin at hand Dimitri crushed and stabbed the creature till it gave in to weakness and heaved its last breath.
Dimitri glanced at the corpse with distain and approached his slightly damaged bag. His intruder was dead and he was glad he confirmed his supplies and prepared to leave his abode. Amidst that the monsters corpse twitched and under the moonlight a diamond like stone appeared on its body. It was the size of child’s fist and it silver allure illuminated the corpse. Dimitri smile flickered across his face like a hologram. He gazed at the stone and finally picked it up and swallowed it.
