*Harper's POV*
I slowly opened my eyes, blinking multiple times until the blurriness subsided, realizing I was, in fact, alive. . .I heard faint beeping noises in the background from medical machines, telling me I was in a hospital. I felt so much pain all over my body, but there was a new kind of pain, quickly becoming aware of the invasion of medical equipment in and around my mouth, occupying space within my throat. I could feel the IV taped to my hand as I watched fluids drain down the tube and into my body. The lights were dim, allowing my eyes to adjust easily without the bright florescents shining down.
