Her Two Fated Mates

chapter 4. Courage.

Today is the day. It's a beautiful day. the sun is shining bright, the grass is a luscious green, the birds are singing, and it's been two weeks since I threw Tristan into a tree. Im kind of hoping we are mates. He is very cute, and i would be dating him if i knew he was, i just dont want to go through that heartache if im not, and he finds her.

Frank has gone out on an overnight mission with our Alpha. We dont know where or why, and honestly, I dont care. With these missions, i hope he never comes back. I go to sit outside and bask in the warm sun. I felt at peace today. no worrying about the next beating from him, but just for today, so I'm going to make the best of it and enjoy it whilst it lasts.

"Happy Birthday, sweetheart," I hear mum behind me. " You're 18 now. all grown up! it feels like just yesterday, I held you in my arms for the first time. Oh, here I have something for you." she rambles, and then she pulls out a small black velvet box. I look at her stunned. " What is this?" I ask a little stunned. we weren't allowed access to any money unless mum went grocery shopping, and there is no way Frank would let her buy anything for me.

I cautiously take the little box from her, I really hope Frank won't hurt her for it.

"I got this before I had you. I wanted to get you something that is to be given to you on your 18th birthday. I want you to know this from both of us. mmm me and your father, of course." she stumbles over her words. I notice she is wringing her hands together. she is really nervous.

I open it cautiously. inside is the most beautiful necklace I have ever seen. it's a beautiful golden love heart with a Ruby in the middle. the heart itself is decorated with tiny diamonds on it. "Mum, it's absolutely stunning. thankyou..I...I love it." I say as tears start to fall down my cheeks. mum takes it out and fastens it around my neck. she has tears welling up in her eyes. "Your Dad would be so proud of the woman you have become. Goddess, I miss him.."

"I know, mum, I miss him too." we hugged for a while. Once mum and I stopped hugging, we decided to go for a walk. reminiscing about the happier times we were able to share. "So, are you going to Jasmine's tonight?" Mum asks. Jasmine is holding a massive birthday bash but says she has a suprise for me. "Yeah, of course. it's not every day your best friend turns 18" I say. " Awesome, come on, let's go for a walk, just you and me. It's been a while since we were able to do anything Adventurous." Mum said, I nodded."Let's go. "

As we walked, i noticed we were walking towards town. I started feeling a little uneasy. I stopped dead in my tracks, Frank would never allow this. "Mum, where are we going? why are we headed to town! Frank is going to kill us!" I began panicking now. until Jasmine is Alpha, we are screwed if he found out.

" Calm down hunny, your ok, just breathe. in through the nose out through the mouth." I do as she says. once I have calmed down, mum starts to explain." we are here to go clothes shopping, and Frank can go F**k himself. He left his wallet behind, and I wanted to take you for a mother daughter day.He owes us at least this." Mum wiggles her eyebrows at me, i can't let her put herself in danger like this." Mum, this is not a good idea. "My heart is hammering in my chest." it will be fine. Besides, I know something you don't, we will be ok."

I looked at her, still unsure, but I followed her lead anyway. we went dress shopping and shoe shopping. we got our hair,makeup, and nails done. we had an absolute blast. "You need to look your absolute best tonight. I will be there tonight as well, " Mum told me.

what in the world is going on. I'm so confused. she smiles at me with a glint of mischief in her eyes. Sabine has had a ball. we sat down and got a coffee and some cheese cake. and headed home it was 5 pm when we got home. so we started getting ready for the party. as we both walked down the stairs, we heard the door slam open, and there he stood, Frank took one look at us, and his fists balled up by his side. I knew it. this is it we are done for now. Frank starts to charge at me when suddenly, Mum steps out in front of me and smacks him in the nose. He stumbled back a little, taken by suprise. he launches again, but this time I knee him straight in the sternum, I winded him good. As he tries to catch his breath, Mum steps forward. " I KIRAH JOANNE BRADBURY OF IVORY MOON REJECT YOU, BETA FRANKLIN RANCH AS MY MATE!" she screams out she kicks him in the face once more before she grabs my hand and runs to the car. before she starts the engine, he crumples over, holding a very bloody nose, and starts screaming in agony. mum took a deep breath and gritted her teeth as she put her foot down on the accelerator a couple of just as she started to go, he comes storming out of the house. and he is pissed, blood dripping down his red face. I see him slam his fist into the side of the house, and then I see him disappear in a cloud of smoke. Well, it turns out my mum has some explaining to do. What was that?
