GEORGIA The moment the heavy steel doors slid shut, sealing me away from his piercing gaze, the cold and impenetrable expression I had been wearing inside that boardroom violently vanished. I collapsed back against the mirrored wall of the elevator, my chest heaving as my heart hammered a frantic, terrifying rhythm against my ribs.
