It was dark outside, some yellow leaves were falling from a nearby tree. Even in the city the emerging of fall was evident. There was a slight fog that dimmed the light from the street lamps. Between two street lamps stood a car in the dark as the lamps did not illuminate that part of the street well. The windows were tinted, so it was hard to tell, but inside there were two large men. They both had a cup of coffee they were sipping, both staring at a window. It was three floors up, the drapes pulled close. “Tell me again why you don’t just barge in there and pull her out?” James were frustrated with his alpha, he wanted these stake out sessions to end. John replied in a flat tone while still staring at the window “I never did lose her, when she left she had no idea that I had her things bugged. I know of all her fake passports, all of her apartments. After the first time she left I was not going to lose sight of her again. But she needs to come back on her own, in the meanwhile I’m keeping a close eye on her to make sure she’s safe.” James clicked his tongue, even though John had explained it a million times he still couldn’t understand why he just didn’t grab his Luna and take her home. “Thank you for coming with me James, these stake out’s started to get lonely.” John turned to look at James and smiled. James smiled back and was about to say something when he saw something turning a corner. He gave a gentle slap on John’s arm to alert him. Walking towards the front door was Luna, she looked tired and her steps had a lack of spring to it. She was holding a bag from a nearby pharmacy, in the bag was a small single item. Luna turned to walk in the door and soon she was out of sight again. The two werewolves leaned back in their seat and continued to sip their coffee. James seemed curious as he asked John “do you think she knows?” John shook his head slightly “I think she’s finding out tonight, the bag she was holding.” James nodded knowingly “what do you think she will do?” John said in a flat tone “she is going to call me and ask to come back home.” James looked at John with a surprised and doubtful look “really? You think she’s going to call you for the first time in months when she finds out that kind of news?” John looked at James with a grin “think about it, she’s going to realize it is a werewolf, who else would she call? On her own she could deal with a human, but this is probably the thing that is going to knock some sense in her.” James nodded “man, you’re probably right. Godess I hope so, it’s about time we get ourselves a Luna, and get OUR Luna home.” John nodded in agreement. Roughly thirty minutes went by in silence, then suddenly John’s phone rang. He picked it up and answered a number he did not recognize “Hi Luna, I’ve waiting for your call.” At the other end he could hear a little sob, then a sniffle. A soft voice, almost a whisper spoke back “you’re not mad?” John answered in a warm and comforting tone “how could I be mad? I have cried every night, not because you hurt me. Because YOU have been hurting. I have been lonely, not because you left me. Because I could not comfort you. I have been frustrated, not because you are stubborn, even though you are. It’s because I had to wait to tell you it will all be ok.” Luna was crying at the other end, her sobs and sniffles were echoing through. “I wanted to call earlier, but I felt so stupid, and I was scared you would be angry with me.” John cooed back “I know, so I let you take your time.” Luna chuckled “I should have guess you would be perfect, even in such a situation.” John grinned but didn’t say anything. After a few seconds Luna spoke again “I’m scared Johnathan.” John replied with the most reassuring voice he could “I will always keep you safe, both of you.” Luna gasped in the other end “how did you know?” John grinned even more as he answered “I always checked on every apartment after you left, two weeks ago I could smell it in your scent that you left behind.” Luna chuckled then sniffed some more, he suspected she started to cry again. “Aren’t you disappointed that I called because of this and not sooner?” John shook his head even though she could not see “no, I knew you needed your time. And that you would come home eventually. This just kickstarted it.” There was a moment of silence before Luna answered “you’re right outside aren’t you?” John chuckled “I am. James is here too.” Luna whispered back “would you like to come upstairs?” John choked out “yes we would, we could use a bed to sleep in tonight. Our flight leaves early tomorrow.” Luna then sighed “you have a ticket for me too don’t you?” John smiled as he answered “I do.” Luna chuckled back “come upstairs Jonathan, I need you tonight.” When Luna opened the door she was met with two very large men, both looking at her like they had been lost forever and finally had come home. John grabbed Luna and hugged her in a tight embrace. Her arms around his neck, and in one hand she held a white and pink stick. In the window you could see two blue lines. James smirked as he passed them and sauntered off to the guest room. He knew where it was, John had floor plans over all her apartments. John slowly walked towards Luna’s bedroom with her still tight in his embrace. He closed the door with his foot and brought her to bed. That night he was very gentle with her, and he ended the lovemaking with resting his head close to her tummy, talking to his future pup.
