Red Moon Pack
Ella’s POV
I watched in secret as the man slit the guard’s throat with his sword. His expression was dangerous and furious, and his golden eyes glowed faintly in the darkness, giving him a regal but deadly aura. I shivered where I hid.
How can someone be this ruthless? I thought.
Suddenly, his gaze snapped to my hiding spot. “Who the hell is that?” he yelled. “Check who’s there! Bring them to me—dead or alive.”
Five guards moved at once, heading straight for me. My heart dropped. For a second, I wished I could disappear or drop dead on the spot. I knew I had trespassed. No one dared come near this place, let alone spy on it, unless they were summoned. But I had. I broke the rules.
Then a hand yanked me away. My mind went blank for a second because I thought I’d been caught. I almost screamed, but a palm covered my mouth instantly. I turned around and found a woman I didn’t know.
“Vanessa,” she whispered.
She wore black trousers and a black top, with a sword in her hand. She looked like she’d just come from the training ground.
“Shhh! Don’t make a sound,” she said.
She gestured for me to follow her, and we slipped away from the dungeon to a tree outside. We stopped there, and she stared at me. I couldn’t tell if it was admiration or pity. I wasn’t the kind of person anyone admired—I had nothing.
When she noticed my unease, she cleared her throat and said, “You’re really bold for disobeying the Alpha’s rule.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to,” I said, bowing my head in shame.
She smiled, then scolded me for crossing my boundaries and not valuing my life. She told me the guards wouldn’t be able to find us because she’d blocked our scent with wolfsbane.
“It will keep them off us,” she muttered. “But you should stay out of the Alpha’s sight for a while. You can’t hide forever, and he isn’t someone you can deceive. He’ll figure it out eventually.”
“Why did you help me?” I asked, curious. I was just a lonely, poor slave with no special skill.
Her reply shocked me.
“Ella, you’re a special person, and I can see it. Just be yourself and be careful. You don’t have to be scared of Christopher. He might be ruthless, but he’s kind at heart. Don’t judge him by what you see,” she said, then walked away.
I kept wondering if what she said was true, or if she was just defending him. Maybe he was her lover. But why had she saved me? And what made her think I was special? How did she know my name without asking? I’d never served in the main chamber or had any special encounter with her before today.
I’d been brought as a slave from Blueprint pack a month ago. I didn’t fear or complain like the others, because I’d always been a slave. To be honest, Red Moon Pack had been good to us—until today.
My thoughts were interrupted by chaos in the garden. A servant rushed past and told me to run. An entire family was being killed there.
My eyes widened.
How can someone be this wicked? Killing a whole family without sparing a single person. It had to be the man from before. And here I was, thinking what the woman who saved me said might be true. How did she expect me to believe that?
I wish I have the power to kill him one day. This had to stop.
And the Alpha of this pack refused to do anything about this inhumane act. Blueprint pack was better than this place, I thought, and I followed the servant.
Christopher’s POV
I sat alone in my library, reviewing reports from one of my companies in the city and the pack alliances we held. Red Moon Pack was the biggest and most feared pack in the werewolf clans.
They called me “The Ruthless Alpha,” but I didn’t care. Everything I did had a reason. I didn’t act on impulse. The only people who understood me were my parents, my sister, Eric my Beta, and Richard my Gamma.
My biggest problem was finding my mate. I’d become Alpha at a young age, but I never let my age make me feel inferior. I did my job well, formed alliances with powerful packs, and expanded my business. That was why my pack was the strongest of all. But I still hadn’t found my mate.
My father said I could choose a mate from among the female wolf warriors if I couldn’t find my fated one. But I wanted the mate the Moon Goddess chose for me—a Luna I would love for the rest of my life. Not someone I picked out of impatience or pressure. I wanted a mate who could lead the people, who would be my strength, someone I could build the pack with. Not a weakness or a liability.
My thoughts were interrupted by Eric’s voice. “Alpha,” he called. “The guard who stole the map and the symbol of authority has been caught. He’s in the dungeon now.”
I felt both pleased and furious. How dare a mere guard steal from me—from the pack?
I stood, grabbed my sword, and followed Eric. When we reached the dungeon, I caught a familiar scent. It seemed to be coming from the guard. I moved closer and questioned him about who had sent him and why. He refused to answer, even when I stayed calm. He had the audacity to insult me, so I angrily slit his throat.
I told Eric to find out where the scent came from, and he left immediately through the secret passage.
Suddenly, I sensed someone lurking nearby. I was curious. No one dared come near the dungeon during an interrogation unless they were called. So I ordered the guards to find out who it was and bring them to me—dead or alive.
I decided to return to my room. On the way, Eric told me the scent belonged to the Messachar family. They were the only ones with that scent, aside from their favored servants. They were in the garden now, asking to see me.
I went to the garden and asked them about the guard. They denied knowing him.
After a lot of torture, the son broke. He confessed that they were behind it. They claimed they weren’t guilty because power belonged to them, and he was supposed to be Alpha. I killed him, and then his parents.
The guards returned and told me the person who’d been peeping had escaped. I ignored them and went to my room.
When I got there, I found Ruth, my bed partner. I used her to satisfy my wolf’s urge since I didn’t have a mate yet. I ignored the fact that she’d entered without permission.
“Just what I need,” I said, and she smiled.
I ordered her to strip and get on the bed, face down. I saw the displeasure on her face, but it didn’t matter as long as I got what I wanted.
I joined her and f****d her really hard. I wasn't really enjoying it, maybe it's because of stress or the thinking of having my mate. But I still need to satisfy my wolf.
As I reach my climax, I pulled out immediately and stood up.
"Out of my room," I said
"But Chris, at least let me stay for the night" she said with a seductive look which feels irritating
"Out," I said, my eye flared up with fire
She didn't hesitate before picking up her clothes and ran out of my room
I then proceeded to the bathroom to take my shower
