We took a lunch break after discussing all the new investments we could make and I excused myself to go to the restroom.
I closed the door behind me and checked my make-up. Alright. It was not smeared so all good. I indulged nature next and was coming out of the booth when I saw Dante in front of the sinks. I froze. What was he doing here?
"You know that this is the ladies' room right?" I asked while I washed my hands as if unfazed.
He was watching me like a hawk and I did not know what I did to earn that treatment. I turned to face him and he pulled me by the waist against his body.
"I saw how the boy looked at you and I didn't like it." He said looking into my eyes but it felt more like he was looking directly into my soul.
"I can't do anything about it." I smirked.
"No. But I can." He said.
"What?"
I barely had time to mutter before he leaned into me and kissed me as if we were the only person in the world. The kiss was intense and passionate as he nibbled my lower lip making me gasp.
He took the opportunity to drive his tongue inside my mouth. It felt so good as he explored the inside of my mouth and I had trouble matching his ardour. His tongue was soft as it chased mine and his hands were holding my hips firmly. My knees felt weak but he held me securily against him and I felt him poke through his pants. That definitely made me moan. A loud moan against his lips. He growled and pushed me softly against the wall.
"Do that again." He said against my lips. "And I won't be able to hold back."
His eyes were buttercups yellow as he looked at me. His wolf's eyes. We were straining our patience by not completing the bond. Normally, you would complete it after meeting your mate but I suppose, my situation was too sensitive for that. I shook my head and cupped his face with my hands.
"Not here." I said.
He fought for control and his eyes were back to the green that I liked. I was safe for now. He leaned into me again to peck my lips and I let him. That kiss was f*****g good and I could not wait for more. He finally leaned his forehead against mine and he said with a deep voice.
"You can't postpone it forever Selena."
"For as long as it takes, I will." I said.
He sighed and parted from me to look at me. I could see that it was taking its toll on his patience and I knew Dante was not patient to begin with.
"You know it's the only way." He said.
"I refuse. We'll find another way and I think I might just have an idea."
He looked at me quizzically and I smiled before stealing a kiss. I turned in his arms and walked out of the ladies' room as if everything was normal. Who was I kidding? My panties were soaked and I just wildly kissed my mate inside the ladies' room.
I saw that Theo and James were still here and Theo offered me a sunny smile. I returned a small one as I felt Dante's hand snake around my waist pulling me closer to him. I kissed his cheek because he was staring at Theo with murder in his eyes and that helped him focus on me. He leaned into my ear and his breath almost made me moan again.
"You're definitely bold today baby. I like that." He whispered.
"Well I'm afraid you would kill the poor man for just smiling at me and I don't mind showing them that we belong to each other." I said softly.
"He can look but he can never touch. All of you belong to me." He purred.
I rolled my eyes and sighed before we walked to the others. Lara was definitely smirking at me and I rolled my eyes at her earning myself a giggle. Ezio had a small smile that resembled the one his brother had sometimes. Goddess they were almost twins those two.
Since we were done with this part of the business, Dante decided we could go home or go downtown if we wanted to. I actually had no interest in going downtown but I waited for Lara and Ezio to decide. Maybe they wanted to enjoy some time in the city.
"You could show Selena the city Dante." Ezio suggested. "That would help the two of you bond right?"
Dante pulled me closer and looked at me intensely. That was a look I could hardly look away from because it made me feel like the only girl in the world.
"I'd love to take you on a date my mate." He said with a deep voice and I nodded. How could I say no to that? Just like that, all my reluctance flew out the window.
The car left us in the middle of the street and I did not feel comfortable among all the humans. The different smells were actually harassing my nose and I did not know how to focus on one. Dante sensed my discomfort and he held my waist lightly to him.
"It's all right babygirl. Take a deep breath. Don't try to focus on the smell." He said.
"How do you manage that?" I asked.
"Practice. Come on. I'll show you around."
We walked side by side and I noticed that he was matching his pace to mine so I would feel comfortable. There. Right there was his good side if only he could see it. As a reward, I wrapped my own arm around his waist to bring us closer and he smiled at me.
"Where are you taking me then?" I asked.
"I would take you everywhere baby but humans wouldn't understand." He winked.
I blushed and rolled my eyes at him. Perv.
"Take your mind out of the gutter Alpha." I sighed.
"If you could see yourself like I do, you wouldn't say that. I felt how much you wanted me in the office and now, that's the only thing I can think of." He smirked.
"You know what you need to do to make it a reality." I said looking at him.
"Speaking of, you said you had an idea. I'm all ears sweetheart."
"Is it safe to discuss business on the streets?" I asked.
"We can walk a bit further. There's a park where we can have a bit more privacy."
A shiver ran down my spine as he said those words. They might mean more than just privacy to talk and that was thrilling. Dante was a dream of a man and I could not help but feel lucky that he was my mate. For the most part of course. If his personality matched his looks well I would be in trouble but he was so hot and cold, caring one minute and threatening the next. I could hardly say that he was boring.
We walked around a corner and there was a huge park. A little bit of nature among the concrete. I felt better just seeing it. The trees were tall but not as much as the forest back in Dante's territory. There was a pond in the middle and many people were enjoying the sun by lying on the grass. It actually looked tempting but since I was wearing a short skirt, that was a big no.
Dante led me to a bench that was facing the pond and we sat down. I perked up my ears and noticed that we were far enough from any humans that we could talk without being heard. Good. I did not want to have to think about which words I could use.
"My idea is this." I said crossing my leg over the other and intertwining my fingers on my knee. "You're looking for a new investment and my family's business is in iron. We deliver it everywhere in the country and we're the leader in the State. It would be stupid to kill a good investment."
He listened to me carefully and he looked at me all business-like. That was actually hot coming from him. I never saw him this serious before. I could see that he was pondering my statement thoroughly. I bit my bottom lip nervously and he put his hand on my cheek, caressing my lip with his thumb so I would release it.
"You know it's very distracting when you do that." He said. "I must admit that I'm impressed darling. It would solve my investment problem because iron is always a safe value and I know all about your family's business. I intended to take it over once they were all dead so why shouldn't I kill them?"
I smiled as I was about to deal the final blow. Got you.
"You won't be able to. It's in their will. If the last heir dies, the company will be sold to my uncle."
"I could kill him too." He said matter-of-fact.
"Really? That would only cause more trouble. My uncle is an Alpha. So you would have to fight another pack and probably kill them before having the company. That's too much trouble."
"So I have to do business with your father?"
"Yes. That would be the smartest way." I nodded.
"Would he accept drug money though?" He asked.
"We don't need to tell him. As long as he gets the money, he won't ask where it comes from." I shrugged.
"That still doesn't solve my road problem."
"I think it just does." I retorted.
He arched an eyebrow and I smiled at him. I felt really proud of myself right now.
"You'll need places to stock your iron so we could just put the warehouses where you want them making that part of the land yours to do with as you see fit. No one would snoop around in my father's pack. They'll just do what they're told."
I extended my hand to him like a good business partner and smiled a devilish smile. I knew right there that I had won so I would enjoy it fully.
"Do we have a deal?"
