Chapter 6

980 Words
Midnight was surprised to be woken up by Gabriel, and at first, he thought this was a dream, and that was nothing out of the ordinary. But, he realised Gabriel wasn’t in bed with him; the other two shits were, so he concluded this was, in fact, not a dream. Gabriel continued to look at him with a frown in the room's darkness. “You all need to wake up,” he whispered. “Why?” he muttered, rolling over so his back was to the man. “Let me sleep, Gabe. Respectfully, go away.” “Midnight,” he repeated gently, placing his warm hand on his shoulder and gently shaking him. “There’s an issue at the Tomas’ we need to go. Luca’s already there.” “Let the adults deal with it.” “You b***h, we are the adults, get the f**k up,” Isaiah hissed as he kicked Midnight awake. Midnight groaned as he threw the blankets off him and scowled, sitting up and rubbing his eyes, letting them adjust to the darkness of his room. “This is the last time I let you shits get into bed with me.” Ah, they had fallen asleep while smoking, and from the time they’d only been asleep for fifteen minutes, and the more Midnight shifted, the more he realised he was still high, and a dopey smile appeared on his face. Great. He could handle whatever the f**k was going to happen if he was high. “Shits?” Gabriel asked, as he walked over and turned on the light, all three men groaned, wincing as the bright light hurt their eyes. “Is Royal in bed, too?” Royal appeared, sticking his head out from the side of the duvet; he winced at the bright light but nodded. “Hi, Gabriel. Can you turn off the light, please?” Gabriel frowned, unsure what to do with this information, but he nodded slowly. Sure. This was normal. So the four of them went a few doors down to the Tomas’s, and they could hear all the intangible yelling from where they stood. They eyed one another in confusion and walked inside, through the sliding doors into the lounge rooms, where they saw it. There was a bleeding man on the couch. His dark skin shone with sweat, and when Midnight got a closer look, he snorted when he realised it was Romero’s nephew, Ravi. And the two men who towered over the rest of them were Rick and Roman Romero. Great. When Midnight peeked over at Ravi again, he winced, and Royal smiled as he looked over. Midnight could see the knife stuck in the man’s torso, and he was so tempted to pull it out, but when he reached over, Erza smacked his hand away, glaring at the man. “No way. You three go stand in the f*****g corner,” she hissed, pointing to one of the corners. Midnight dropped his head as Royal and Isaiah followed him; their heads bowed as they went to the corner and pouted, crossing their arms over their chests. Olivia frowned. “Should we be worried we’re raising stoners?” she asked, staring at the three men. Erza snorted, waving her hand. “I think you mean Luca is.” “Oh, I think we’re all raising stoners.” Lucky cleared his throat and sighed, looking down at Ravi and then back up at the Romeros. “I don’t think this is a good idea,” he whispered. “The environment isn’t sterile, nor do I know if the knife hit any of his internal organs; this could be really dangerous.” Rick sighed and said something that sounded a lot like Japanese. Roman shrugged before he replied. Rick snapped something, and Roman replied calmly. It sounded a lot like Rick swearing. Roman smiled as he turned around to face Lucky. “We know. But we would have gone if going to the hospital was an option. Please, help him.” Isaiah gasped, staring at the men in surprise. “You speak anime?” “Someone shut him up,” Ash snapped, glaring at the man. “Royal,” Midnight deadpanned. “Got it.” Royal moved over to Midnight, grabbed Isaiah's head, and pulled him in for a kiss. Midnight looked away in disgust; he did not need to see his friends making out so close to him. Ravi let out a little whimper and nodded as he bit down on whatever Lucky stuck in his mouth. Lucky winced as he began carefully pulling the knife out. He moved a few centimetres, and Ravi jerked, causing him to stop. “Please, keep him still. The knife appeared to have missed his organs, but one wrong move and I could nick it. Please, let’s just take him to the hospital.” “No, can do.” “Oh,” Roman said, looking around. “Where’s Gabe?” Gabe’s hand shot up, and he jumped a little to be seen behind Royal. “Here I am.” When Roman moved closer, Midnight pushed past everyone and stood in his way, and Roman smiled. “Midnight, hello,” he said, looking down at him. Midnight didn’t like the Romero's, and he didn’t trust them; Gabe would not be going anywhere near any of them. Rick snorted. “I see you still have a stick up your ass.” Midnight glared at him. “I’ll have one up yours in a minute.” “Look, there are too many people,” Erza said. “If you want to go home, go home. I know it’s late, and most of you have work tomorrow.” Midnight watched as a few people left, and he remained near the wall, his eyes glued on Gabriel as Uncle Lucky worked away on Ravi. ~*~
