The men engaged in their fight again and moved toward the glass chamber. Madeline looked at the interactive map. She didn’t need to read the technical information to know that the elements for the moment of coronation were quickly clicking into place. She knew that if either one of the two versions of Ciaran got into the glass chamber, the system would verify him because their profiles were identical.
“Don’t move any closer. Don’t make me swing my sword!” Madeline darted in front of the glass chamber to prevent either of the men from entering.
From the screen at the corner of the room, Jo’s voice came out. “Ciaran, are you there? Sorry, I can’t get the visual working—”
“I’m here,” both men said.
“Hmm, there’s an echo from your end. But as long as you can hear me, it’ll do,”
