Madeline opened her eyes to find Moira and Janei staring at her. She had tried three times to connect to Ciaran’s mind without success. She could feel tears in her eyes and a lump forming in her throat.
“Is he down?” Moira asked.
“I suggest calling Ciaran’s private communicator,” Robert said.
“No private device is secure enough at the moment, Robert,” Madeline said. “I have to go there in person.”
“If my theory is correct, then you should be going to Tower Four,” Moira said.
“I’m not sure your theory is correct, Moira. You’re leaning toward Jo’s prediction, which has to do with the succession line of Sciphil Fours. But Ciaran said the number three might play a part. And I can only be in one place at a time—”
