Chapter 14
After arranging for Tadgh and Dan to stay behind to guard Tower Five, Ciaran took Zach to Tower Two to assist Ayana. In the distance, thick black smoke streamed from Tower Two to the sky. The smell of burned flesh and electrical fire engulfed the air. Ciaran squinted his eyes as he viewed the scene through the monocular. He turned on his communicator. “Sizx, how many guards did you deploy from central to Tower Two?”
“Four hundred, as you commanded. Do you want me to send more? I’m not sure about the current status. They destroyed the data sensors over there.”
“Do you know if their protective shields are operational?”
“In theory, yes. I only used the power of Tower Two for one tenth of a slot to stop the spinning walls at Tower Five, just long enough to send Tadgh and his men
