Outside Tower Five, Tadgh yelled into the communicator. “Why are the walls spinning? Something’s happening inside. Let me in!”
“Possible intruders identified. I can’t get signals from Ciaran. He authorized you as second in charge, Ayana. What’s your command?” Sizx asked.
“What do you see around you, Tadgh?” Ayana asked.
“Not a thing. But it’s like an earthquake in here.”
“You don’t see anyone? No creatures around the tower? Can you confirm?”
“No creatures. I sent men around the tower to check. They saw nothing. Now the nine gigantic walls are spinning like crazy. Is the tower going to cave in?”
“Tadgh, Kyle is inside,” Madeline chimed in, her voice as cold as steel and her face as white as a sheet. Tadgh spewed a stream of profanity, and Zach stood still, saying nothing.
