The first couple whips shocked me, but I refused to cry out. I smelt so many different scents mixed, but two really stood out to me. I remembered the scents from when I was a child and my mom used to bake, one was cinnamon and brown sugar, the other vanilla with some spicy undertones. The smells were absolutely delicious, they almost made me forget that I was chained up, about to be sold and was being whipped. I heard two loud growls that sent shivers down my spine, but not in a bad way.
"Mates, are here. They will protect us and save us. I need to rest, but you must trust mates. We're safe now." Amethyst told me and I trusted her, my wolf would never do anything to hurt me. I felt Amethyst retreat into my mind, and even though I could still feel the whips they stopped abruptly. I felt tingles on my skin and I was lifted and then gently held, it was then that I finally passed out knowing I was safe.
I didn't know how long I was in the darkness but this time it was different. I was able to walk and I made my way through the darkness, it lead way into what appeared to be a beautiful field. I smiled when I entered, I could see, what I knew was my wolf Amethyst curled in a ball sleeping. Despite never having been able to shift, I knew it was my wolf, she was beautiful, her fur was like a beautiful black and white ombre. Next to her was a beautiful woman. She had long blond hair that was almost white, and deep brown eyes, her pale skin was almost translucent and she was wearing a beautiful blue gown. She was whispering softly to Amethyst. She looked over at me and smiled, gesturing for me to come closer. I felt completely safe so I made my way over to her, when I got close she pulled me into a hug. It was the first hug I had received in fifteen years and I wanted to cry. It was warm like I remembered my parents hugs to be. When she finally released me, I sat on the otherside of Amethyst and I stroked my wolf while the woman began to speak. She had a soft voice that was almost musical, it was soothing to listen to her.
"I'm so sorry my darling. I never wanted you to suffer the way you have. I knew you were special, and I tried to protect you but unfortunately free will of others prevented me from doing so. I want you to know that despite how much you have suffered you never got angry. I sent you Amethyst so you wouldn't be alone. I am so sorry, my child." She said.
I continued to stroke Amethyst unsure of what to say. I knew this lady was the Moon Goddess and I knew that there was a plan for everyone, my parents had taught me that. I knew it wasn't her fault, I had prayed to her and she had given me the greatest gift my wolf.
"You and your mates are destined for greatness, there's things on the horizon that you will need them for, and the strength that you have exhibited over the years will prepare you for what's to come. I know your life has been tough, but please trust your mates, never give up on them, or your wolf. I'm so proud that you never faltered in your trust in her." The Moon Goddess continued.
"She was always there for me, she did what she could to protect me." I whispered, leaning over to rest my head on my wolf.
"She is sleeping, she needs to rest, but she will be back as soon as you both recover. I've brought you here together so that you may rest and recover. Trust that you will be ok. Your mates are with you and will be there when you wake up. But remember, not everyone you meet will be trustworthy. But trust your mates, your wolf and most importantly yourself. You're more special then anyone knows." The Goddess said. We sat together in silence for a bit, before she had to take her leave, she told me that I could stay with my wolf in the field until I was ready to go back. I just had to go back into the darkness and I would be able to awake. Amethyst would stay asleep longer, but she would come back to me. The Moon Goddess hugged me again, and before disappearing.
For the first time in a long time I felt at peace, I knew that I would be safe and uninjured. I thought about what the Moon Goddess had told me, she had explained to me that something bigger was coming and I would have to prepare, but my mates would help me.
I was really curious about my mates, I only knew their smells, and I was curious as to why I had two. The Moon Goddess told me that everything would eventually be answered, and Amethyst would guide me. My mates had been gentle when they helped me and from their growls I knew that they would protect me. Amethyst wouldn't have left me alone with them if they had ill intentions, the Moon Goddess had assured me of that. I wanted to meet my mates, I wanted to know more about them and while I should be scared to go back, I knew that they would help me heal. The Moon Goddess had told me it would be a slow recovery, especially while Amethyst was still asleep, and she would be asleep for a while. The Moon Goddess didn't hide that it would be painful, she couldn't take away my injuries, or add weight back on my body, but I was used to pain. Pain had been a constant in my life so it didn't bother me that I would continue to feel it, I was a bit scared when I didn't. As crazy as that sounds. I was also scared to be able to see, I knew the blindfold would be removed, had a bit of fear that my mates wouldn't want me. I came with so much baggage, but the Moon Goddess told me to trust them and Amethyst had said the same and I knew I trusted my wolf. After spending some more time petting my wolf and thanking her for all that she had done for me, I finally decided it was time to go back and meet my mates.
