The Blessed Luna's Saviors

Chapter 3

I rolled my shoulders and stretched my neck, moving it side to side. I had been sitting at my desk for the past few hours doing paperwork for the pack and the various businesses that the pack owned to make money. I didn't mind doing paperwork, but today I just wasn't feeling it.

"Hey handsome." My co-alpha and best friend Nate said, walking into the office, placing a cup of coffee on my desk. I smiled up at him thankful for the distraction. Nate was also one of my mates, we both knew that we had another mate out there, we just hadn't met her yet. Our birthday's were only a couple days apart and I was thrilled when I found out we were mates, but I was a bit perplexed that the bond didn't seem fully complete. My wolf had explained to me that I had two mates and once we found her our bond would fully snap into place. In the meantime, Nate and I kept our bond strong, we spent time with eachother, kissing and fooling around but we had both agreed to wait to mate until we had met our missing piece.

"You're amazing." I said, staring lovingly up at my Nate, he was extremely handsome with dark blonde hair that was shorter on the sides and longer on top, it was the same haircut that I sported though my sides were a bit longer, and I had darker brown hair. Nate was strong, and extremely muscular, but lean at the same time. He was basically a god, and he had piercing emerald green eyes. Nate, rested his hand on my shoulder and I looked up at him, relishing in the sparks I felt, and my wolf relaxed under his touch. Nate had gone to help train, while I worked on paperwork, normally we would both do paperwork and help train, but we had a few business deals closing this week and the Council had informed us that there were two wolves who wished to speak with us. We wanted to get all of our work done before they arrived so I agreed to doing paperwork, since I knew Nate wasn't as fond of it.

I had known Nate my entire life, our parents were best friends and our packs were less than an hour apart. When we were twelve there was an unprovoked attack on Nates pack that no one saw coming and unfortunately, the whole pack except for a handful of members and Nate were wiped out. Nate had managed to escape with a few members, running to our pack, and when my father and his warriors arrived they were able to neutralize the threat, which was rogues who had wanted the land. They had managed to get their hands on guns and a few bombs that contained silver gas that instantly weakened the otherwise strong pack. As a result they were able to kill the most of the warriors and Nates parents. Had Nate not managed to escape, our pack would have been next. My parents instantly took in Nate and his pack members, and we reclaimed his pack, combining it with ours, with the intention of allowing Nate to take back over if he wished when he became of age. My father trained us both to be the next Alpha's, treating Nate no different than me, and when I turned sixteen I had asked my father what he thought about Nate and I becoming co-alpha's when we took over. I couldn't imagine my best friend leaving me and I had a bit of a crush on him too. Nate liked the idea as well, and when we turned eighteen my parents handed the pack over to us. They now resided in a cottage in Nates old pack, as they wanted to be close to their old friends. My mother still helped us with Luna duties and my father attended training, he also assisted us when we needed it. I couldn't have asked for better parents.

"The Council called and said that the two wolves will be here within an hour. Do you need any help with the paperwork?" Nate asked me and I shook my head. I had finished what needed to be done.

"I'm done for now, let's go eat before they arrive." I said standing up, taking my mates hand as we made our way to the dining hall. Nate and I quickly sat down to eat, we liked to have meals with the pack whenever we could, our pack knew that they could come talk to us. Our pack was one of the largest in the country with over five thousand members, it was hard to eat with them all, but we did what we could. Our pack had zero issues with Nate and I being mates, as everyone was welcome, we treated our pack with respect, and didn't believe anyone was below us. We knew that there were packs out there that weren't as understanding and that was part of the reason that we worked with the Council.

The Council was extremely busy and couldn't be everywhere at once, so they had a few trusted Alpha's around the world, if there was a region that didn't have a trust worthy Alpha the Council would be there.

Nate and I quickly finished our lunch, and walked back to our office, setting up the chairs for today's meeting. As we were finishing setting up there was a knock at our door and before we could say "come in", Alyssa, one of our pack members flounced in. While we were kind and spent time with our pack and wanted them to feel like they could come to us if needed, they were still required to be respectful. Alyssa knew that she needed to wait to be welcomed in, but didn't seem to care. She was hoping we would take her as our chosen Luna, despite the fact that we had told her time and time again that we wouldn't. We had never lead her on, or hooked up with her so why she thought we'd be interested was beyond me.

"Alyssa. How many times have we told you that you can't just barge into our office." I said sternly.

"You both looked tense at lunch and I thought I could come offer my services to you." She said, trying to sound seductive.

"No. You know, we are not interested and if you try again there will be severe consequences. This is your last warning. Now leave." Nate said, as walked over to me, putting her hands on my chest. Alyssa huffed and rolled her eyes at us before stomping to the door.

"You need a Luna and I'd be perfect. You both know it." She said and I let out a low growl.

"You'll report to Mary, for the next month and help her, with no pay." I said to Alyssa for her disrespect. Mary was our head Omega, we paid everyone fairly, unless it was a punishment. I linked Mary, letting her know Alyssa would be helping her for the next month. At this Alyssa stormed out the office and both Nate and I rolled our eyes at each other, we had been dealing with this sort of thing regularly. Women throwing themselves at us, hoping we'd take them as our chosen Luna, but they only wanted the power.

After Alyssa left, It wasn't long before our Beta Alex linked us to say that the two wolves were arriving. Nate and I had one beta, and two Gamma's with a pack our size we were looking to add more to the ranks, but hadn't yet found anyone worthy. Nate and I got up and made our way to the front of the pack house to greet our guests. Alex was more than capable of bringing them to our office, but liked to greet people at the door, out of respect. The Council hadn't told us much about these two, but that we needed to meet with them, both Nate and I possessed gifts of the blessed wolves. I knew if someone was lying and Nate could read minds and sift through memories. We were able to share our gifts with each other through our bond. The Council was aware of our gifts, but only our most trustworthy members of our pack knew of our gifts. We didn't use our gifts on our pack unless provoked, and our members were honest enough that we didn't need to use them, unless they gave us a reason.

Nate and I stood side by side, as the two wolves who requested an audience made their way to the front of the pack house. They both bared their necks in respect and stood tall before us. We greeted the men and lead them to our office, having no idea about the horrors we were going to hear.
