Super Alpha

Shannon and her men were responsible for the outburst and strange movements in the woods. They’ve raided Sean’s settlement and all the wolves living in the area scattered among themselves. The berserkers were not present at the moment as only the first three berserkers were left after the fight Alphas from meterverse. The aliens had made a serious mess of his army and he only had the werewolves to recruit into his moonlight pack and the three surviving berserkers. Prior to the presence of the silver bullet team, he had taken the berserkers with him to a different location for at least after the event of the full moon as this was a time he would be prone to making mistakes which might spell his end. He went back to the wolves settlement where the remaining wolves camped after being sent out of Nimron. The wolves had found a new settlement in the forest of Pango located far from town.

The silver bullet had sent shivers down the spine of the werewolves who decided to run for safety than challenge the angry armed men. Most of them were gunned down in an attempted escape while others had hidden themselves for safety.

The growling of these oppressed beasts affected James as he could hear and feel the pains if each of them. It was as if they were all connected to him and he wished there was something he could do about it. What If he goes to challenge these mercenaries? Would that be a wise decision or would he be signing his own death warrant? He thought to himself but he was equally in pain aa much as the helpless wolves.

He attempted calling them together to hold a better chance of survival. He knew not all the wolves are bad wolves like Sean and his group of tyrants. He could save them from being hunted as game and maybe scare off their attackers. He reaches out to his inner being and let out a very loud howl, his voice was carried by the cold winds of the night into the ears of the distressed wolves. They, in turn howled back and started running towards James’ location. Shannon had the howl and stopped, she had never heard a wolf howl in such way in all her years as a wolf Hunter. The howl was so strange and she knew only an alpha can give such authoritative howl. The wolves immediately changed direction and made their way to the cabin. James had decided to take his role and responsibility as a super alpha who had an influence on any wolf irrespective of its pack.

Shannon and her men followed the wolves to the direction they had gone till they arrived at the cabin where James and the wolves had hidden.

“ congratulations Jammy, you have succeeded in bringing the she devil right to our door post. What now? Please don’t tell me you’re going out there to fight them” Danny said as bit his fingers in fear.

“No! I’m going to make them run for their lives”

“ How exact do you intend to make that happen. That’s a f*****g badass army out there” James reminded him making sure he understood the implications of what he was doing.

“ Watch me! These wolves are still Under the influence of the full moon, I suggest you lock the basement behind me and remain indoors so I wouldn’t have to worry about you out there. Both of you should stay out of sight” James said as he climbed out of the basement.

“ Please be careful out there” Jane said as as James went out of sight.

Aa James came out of the basement and out of the house, he evolved into his beast form not a regular kind of wolf but was still a wolf. He was larger , bigger , more ferocious looking than the rest. The other wolves bent their heads in respect aa he stepped out. He went ahead of them standing right before Shannon and her team who were few miles away. She recognized him even though it was dark. How could she ever forget the man that took away her only niece, so she thought.

“ Oh it’s you! The big bad wolf. And still you look so innocent in human form. No one would ever believe you’re a monster who feeds on human flesh and blood. I will make you pay for what you did to my niece. I will make sure I look you in the eyes while I rip your heart out.” A very angry Shannon boasted raging in anger and contempt.

“ Aunt Shan, it was not his fault. None of this was his fault” Jane said coming out from the cabin.

“ I told you to remain in there , why did you come out.”

“ I needed to be out here with everyone. I am one of you now and I’ll die like you if not today then someday. I don’t want to run the rest of my life, that was not how I was brought up. I was raised to confront and fight my fears” Jane said to James.

“ you know the rules Janny, the moment you’re turned , you’re no longer one of us. You become the enemy. I’m sorry, I’m not even interested in how it happened, I was gonna kill him anyway.” Shannon said as she turned to her men raising her right hand up and commanded them to shoot.

James realising this howled and charged the armed men. He was shot at but he kept coming as he was immune to the silver so was Jane. The other wolves were gunned down the moment the bullets touched any of them…They descended heavily on the men and tore them apart. While the struggle eschewed between the both parties, there were casualties both the men and the wolves. Shannon was surprised that the bullets were not harming James, she used a wolfsbane against him but it was futile. James hit her and she fell into the nearby bush. She struggled and rolled on the ground before she stood up, then pulled grenades from her waist and threw it in the midst of the battling men.

“Retreat!”

she shouted as she ran into her vehicle and others too. The grenade went off and killed some of the wolves alongside few of her men. It threw off James from the ground sending him crashing on the floor. This afforded her enough time to enter her car and drove off. The hunters became the hunted as the wolves went after them even while they had driven off in the vehicle.Now it is certain she’s no longer welcomed into the silver bullet team. Whenever she comes across any of the teammates in the near future, it is kill or be killed.

“ Thank you for what you did out there today, you’ve for some balls. I asked you to stay back because I knew how difficult it would have been to be on the opposite side as your aunt. Didn’t think you could have handled that.” James expressed how impressed he was.

“ I should be thanking you for saving my life. That was not courage, that was foolishness. I knew the resultant implications of what I did and still went ahead to do it. I would have out you and everyone else in danger. Jane said. She then readjusted herself after few seconds and continued.

“ What is that thing you did out there today, How did you do it, Calling all the wolves together?” Jane asked to satisfy her curiosity.

“ I can’t say exactly how I did it because I don’t know. It was a gift I was born with. I communicate and control any wolf irrespective of the pack the wolf belonged to” James explained.

Shannon was burning in anger and disappointment. She couldn’t rap it round her head how possible it was that silver bullets were not stopping James or was he not a wolf?. Did he have dark magic that prevented him from being hurt by the bullets or was it just that she missed? No, it can’t be.

“ I never miss , it’s impossible” She said to herself.

“No matter how tough he thinks he is, I must kill him like I killed all other alphas like him. He’s it different from the ones I’ve killed over the years. I just need to find his Achilles heel where his powers is, then I’ll cut him down. Over my dead body will I allow him walk after what he did to my niece. He must pay for it even if I have to cut down his family one after another.” She thought to herself .

Over the course of their journey back home she was completely silent. Some disturbances were heard from the other vehicles behind. The men in the vehicle began to shout and struggle. She had to stop to know what was wrong. Some of the men were badly injured by the wolves and they were beginning to turn and attack others. Gunshots were heard in the vehicle as the car summersaulted and fell due to the extent of the struggle. Two big wolves came out of the vehicle towards her . She was unfazed by the angry looks of the beats and decided not to fight them with a gun. The wolves attacked her but she killed them with a knife clinically without any mistakes. Not only was she into hunting, she also learnt martial arts as this would come in handy against any opponent in the battle field. When the other guys in the vehicle attempted to get out, she threw in a grenade and exploded them all. They had been infected and had to be dealt with.
