Jack “You said you found who?” Sean asked, his brows pulling together in curiosity. I could feel his gaze pierce through me, full of questions I wasn’t ready to answer yet. “I found my mate,” I said slowly, leaning back against my chair. My voice was low, almost uncertain, as my fingers brushed against my jaw. For a moment, the room went silent. Then, Sean’s lips curved into a wide grin. “Wow,” he said, his tone filled with surprise and excitement. “That calls for a celebration.” He paused, studying my face closely. “But wait, why do you look so moody? This is what you’ve always wanted, Jack. You should be happy.” “I know,” I replied, rubbing the bridge of my nose, “but there’s something about her I’m still trying to understand.” Sean tilted his head slightly, waiting. He knew better
