“It’s time, Nora.”
Ellias tapped lightly on my fur, but to me, it felt like he was slamming a whole tree on my head. My eyes fluttered open, my body still begging for sleep. Oh s**t. This couldn’t be happening. I had barely slept last night. Tossing. Turning. My mind running circles even while my body screamed for rest. And now, just when my body finally found that sweet spot of sleep, this man wanted to drag me out.
Limene, of course, had other plans.
She jolted me awake inside, her energy bursting through me like lightning. “Finally! Wake up, sleepy head. We needed this.”
I cursed under my breath. “What is wrong with you? Can’t you decline once in your life?”
She laughed at me, loud and mocking. “Decline? Me? Never. My legs are itching for a run. Don’t be weak.”
