Nora The soft glow of morning filtered into the room, the golden light creeping through the tiny cracks in the wooden wall. I blinked when the sunlight touched my eyelids, my lashes fluttering against its warmth. For a second, I didn’t even know where I was. Everything felt strange, quiet, peaceful, and a little too calm for what I was used to. Then the smell of herbs hit my nose. Strong but sweet, thick enough to sit in my lungs. It reminded me of the same scent from last night, the scent that surrounded me when that old woman was tending to my wounds. The realization sank in. I was still in the same room.
