The Day

631 Words
This is scary, maybe it wouldn't be if I was actually a more open person. But, that's not going to change this now. Me and Ashley have been planning this trip for sometime now and wanting to give up on the day we are leaving, would be ridiculous. So chin up for now and easy breathing too. "Are you ready, Jas?" My mother yelled from down stairs. I wasn't quite ready, I was far from that actually. I stayed up all night thinking that this was a horrible idea. like, why did I let Ashley talk me into this?!  "Getting there, mom!" Lying seemed much better than telling the truth, cause if I did tell the truth my mother will do anything in her power to keep me home and not go away on this trip.  My cell rang. I knew who it was before I picked up. It was Ashley and I knew she was going to ask if I was ready. "Hey, Jas. You ready yet?" before I could answer her she interrupted me, "...cause I'm ready at your door." I sign out loud, she was always early for just about every thing. I tried to pack a bit faster so we can leave. A minute later I started throwing my clothes in the bag then Ashley burst in my room. Scaring the life outta me, "You know what if this is how you're gunna be when we share hotel rooms I don't even want to come!"  "Oh shut up, you need to relax. Also you get scared way too easily!"  She looks around my room then finally my suitcase and says, "Is that all your taking? we're going to be there for 2 weeks...maybe more." Than she winks, and from that single face expression I knew she was up to something. I decided not to ask about it. I don't want to know what the hell she is planning. Knowing her it is something we shouldn't be doing but might end up doing. And before I even thought about complaining my mom knocks on the door. Which is useless because the door is already wide open, I see her. Laughing was the only thing I could do, "Come in mom. The doors open and you can thank Ash for that." "Thank me for everything actually," Ash dramatically said, "and don't forget to bow too."  "Oh yeah, sure! Maybe in your next life, cause I ain't gunna be doing it in this one!" My mom just laughed.  ~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~         ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~ The car ride to the train station was the hardest part of everything. Mother decided to ask question after question even though she already knew the answers to the questions she just asked. But that's my mothers way of showing to please be careful.  "Make sure to call when you arrive, okay?" "Okay, Okay. I will call every chance I can mom," I stared at her. "Don't worry, I'll- we'll be fine." I looked over at Ash, good to finally see she was actually paying attention to this conversation. Thankfully my looked worked because she chimed in with.. "Cammy, I will take care of her, as of a matter of fact, we will take care of each other. And, I'll make sure she calls all the time. I know you worry but let us have some fun," Ash looks at me, "your daughter needs it. We both need it!" She was right though. We did need this. I needed this, but I was scared to venture out into the world. But I cant be scared anymore. I can do this.
