Chapter Thirteen:
Jessie didn’t answer right off, just stood silently glaring and wondering about how much her job was really worth.
Nick humped a shoulder. “So the Schlesinger account?”
The tension eased a little from the girl’s face. “It took a bit of time, Mr. Chase, but it was easy enough,” Jessie said. “I updated the kernel and ran a system’s check. Reloaded their files from the server and rebooted– got them back up and running. Not a problem.”
Jessie looked singularly seductive with silky auburn hair swinging about a flawless completion. She hooked a strand of hair behind an ear and lifted her eyes to him. Jessie wore a smart, dark business suit with matching pumps which emphasized a trim figure and slim calves.
“So the job’s finished, then?”
“Just have to make up the invoice,
